You should have said, I could have given you a decent route. There's load of traffic about due to the road works.

Took the long way home.
God I've missed that bike. It really sings and the handling is ace.

Went out for a 50 mile blast with my dad. Was totally liberating just going out on a dry evening, on some wonderful twisty local roads. Found some new ones today which I hope to be able to find again and maybe follow them further down next time and see where they lead. Thoroughly enjoyable hoon. However did have a bit of a slip on gravel that was in the middle of the road, just seemed out of place and took me by surprise...eg I shat myself when I had the wobble!!

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Went out this morning for a blast before my observed ride had just filled up everything was going great. I got near to my meet place with the observer and decided oh I have just enough time to have a wee I'll quickly pop home so took a different route. Got to a t junction (literally 3 mins away from home) stalled it and as I had almost fill lock on I could feel it going.
I fought it and luckily I managed to lay her down however not without something breaking...bloody foot peg as snapped! Crash bung has don't it's job very minimal damage.
Luckily a driver pulled up behind me and helped me out picking her up as I wasn't able to do it by myself.
I pushed it to the pavement had a breather rung my observer and have cancelled my ride. This also now means I prob won't be able to get to the Cotswolds ride this Monday to.
On another note I have been practicing clutchless upshifts since all the observers have been trying to tell me about it and a guy off 675cc wrote dowb exactly how to do it so used his information and wow why didn't I know about this sooner!! Absolutely amazing. You feel like a biking God!!

Sorry to hear you've dropped your bike. Sounds like an easy fix though.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Decided to take the bike out in the rain. Had a bit of a laugh in this sopping wet weather. The tyres perform well in all honesty, which lets me know that they are brilliant in dry, pretty good in wet but piss poor in greasy wet weather!
Anyway so I had done a bit of town riding, headed off up to Aldershot down the dual carriage way giving it a bit of stick and on way back through camberly heading up on a bit of national section heading up to Bracknell I gave it a hand full in 3rd rear end stopped giving any more go and slid and wheel spinned up a hill and snaked, immediately gave me a heart attack came off the gas and went up a gear, realised I hadn't died and grinned from ear to ear! Only went out for around 40 miles I guess maybe a tad under but was fun out in the rain, hadn't ride in the rain for ages and ages and have become a bit of a fairy (fair weather rider). Must admit this IAM training must be doing me some good as feel so much more confident with my abilities and the bikes capabilities.

Nice one Rossgo glad you stayed sunny side up and had a giggle. Riding in the rain even though the lean angle is nothing compared to the dry can still be a lot of fun.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Took the 999s out this evening for a quick blast to get a bit more feel for it, quite Hard suspension set up, the fuelling seems a bit hesitant when your just pootling along in traffic , fine once it's opened up.
May take it round JHS for a dyno to see how the fuelling is.
Need a bit of dry weather so I can take it for a decent blast !

Tbh Mick fuelling has come on a lot in recent years but older twins struggle a bit on part throttle as the systems are not as complex or ride by wire.
My SP2 is exactly the same and it has a custom map installed.

Ordered a new chain & seat cover for the 999s , that has got be the slippiest seat ever on a bike, im all over the flaming place, trying desperately hard to grip the tank which has no tank pads on either

Filtered past a load of traffic only to come across a serious looking crash with police and ambulances present. The nice police lady waved me through though
