I'm doing Tough Mudder South West (The Culden Faw one) anyone else doing this? Anyone else starting training for it now? Me and my mum are doing it together (she races super endurance kayak races so she puts me to shame) and we did it last year in 3hr50 ish with very limited training. Hurt like hell the next day!!

That sounds too much like hard work.

I'll bring a deck chair and watch.

It does make for good spectating... had a friend watching me and mum doing it last year and they saw all sorts of horrible accident happening!! If you enjoy watching Takeshis castle (where they just hurt themselves voluntarily) then you'll enjoy Culden Faw.

A few of my friends do the Tough mudder. I have been invited but my shoulder is too weak to risk it.

A quick upper body session to try and convince myself I can gorge out over the next couple of days.

I'm all over the place with my routine. I need to sort something out.

As I've started Taekwondo I need to up my cardio work. On Monday I found out how inflexible I was so I need to work on that. I've always had tight hamstrings so I need to start doing some exercises to loosen them.

I think I'll build up a bit more muscle then try and go back to HIIT work, if the headaches let me.

Somehow I manage to loose weight over christmas (blush) The wife was not impressed..

Training started in earnest this week. Reading half marathon is in 72 days and I'm going to set the 2 hour goal again. Did one of my training routes earlier this week, which went ok, and did a cardio session down the gym today. From now onwards it's going to be 2 runs and a cross-train session in the gym per week. The focus will be moving over to stamina now and trying to get the distance locked in.

Good luck with the training mate, you've definitely put some great work in towards this, looking forward to hearing how you go.

Cheers mate....

I'm going to be dropping runkeeper though, the gps sensor on my phone has died and I'm not going to be getting a new phone anytime soon. I've just treated myself t a garmin forerunner of eBay, seems like a nice bit of kit. If the weather is good tomorrow I'm hoping to get out for a run to test it.

Is this a gym progam Ro or something you're doing at home? It sounds punishing... And rather intriguing!

Insanity is a workout DVD led by a dude called Shaun T - It's very hard! But you start to see results within 2 weeks which is bonkers... I still can't walk normally and about to go out for an observed ride with TVAM... 3hrs... it's going to hurt! I shall require a long soak in the bath after. With wine.

7.5k run this morning, wasn't feeling it at all. Think I ran a bit too soon after breakfast as I started feeling sick at about half distance. I also just couldn't find a decent rhythm.
