Can you miserable feckers take winter back please?? This is my first full winter in 7 years due to not going out to my tropical metal island called work, and I’m not liking it one bit!

Forecast for snow down to 600m. I live at 550m

Why is it that as humans we can make so many choices about our lives but perhaps the most important, choosing when to die, is not a choice we are allowed to make?

It depends upon the situation, the context. I don't feel choosing when to die is the most important decision we make, rather than how we choose to live.

Mil was taken back into hospital again last night. Her life now is little more than being filled with drugs and hospital visits/stays.

That's not good, Duke :( I'm sorry

The main thing is her comfort though so hopefully the drugs are keeping her comfortable

No apologies needed, Cav.

I just wish our system was more attuned to making people’s last days more comfortable than prolonging them for the sake of it. We have it badly wrong. We only seem to be able to do this for the last few days if someone’s life.

In fairness, this is something discussed at great length frequently and they are making progress towards the decision you and I both want - euthanasia.

The difficulty comes from them not wanting to just straight up adopt the system in (IIRC) the Netherlands, I believe. There's also huge legal and moral issues to talk about and discuss and this is something I actually feel they care about hence them taking their time.

I doubt we'll have it inside of 20 years

Moral? For the on looker or for the actual person who is in pain?

For me there is no moral ambiguity, however, there is (and rightfully so in my view) a fear of people using EPAs to euphonise someone who never wanted that. EPAs are something I have a particular gripe with so calm yourself before you reply, Darren. (y)

Ebay cu*ts who buy something and change their mind within an hour of the auction ending.

Had lots of bids on an item. The horrible sod who won it won't buy it, as he thought it was free postage. I clearly listed posted at £11.85 Royal Mail 1st class, which was the actual cost to me.

Even if he thought it was free the item was won with a bid of £180 so with postage £191.85 hardly a massive uplift.

Hate these time wasters. Got to relist for another 7 days only to be potentially fooked about again (swear)

There should be an option to offer it to the second highest bidder

(wait) Or better still (assuming it's 675 bling removed from your old bike) just donate it to a worthy fellow Slapper & save yourself all that grief.?

I'm sure someone on here can help you out by being worthy. (angel)

Enduring Power of Attorney - you control over someone's estate when they are no longer capable. There's no black and white, it's all grey - unless a solicitor is acting EPA then it's all fecking white.
