Re: The new improved fitness thread
I've been to the gym for the first time this year. I didn't do too much, I wanted to ease myself back in.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
The sonic shock therapy on my foot seems to be working, and my shoulder is giving me a little less grief.
So, I've been back on the turbo again. Done a couple of 10 mile rides to start getting the body moving again. I've got about 3 or 4 months to get marathon fit.

Incredibly tough cycle yesterday with 60+ mph winds on top of the common. I was getting blown 30m off course and had to tack upwind like a sailing boat. Granny gear wasn't granny enough.
Managed over 30 miles and 2500ft still

Pedalling home via the woods. It's wet and miserable so I'm going to try and smash out a fast time. Maximum effort and a cider when I get home - here I come!

I was in the gym tonight, watching a total beast doing overhead press with 120kg.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Last week was the first week I cycled more than 100 miles. I cycled on 5 days and enjoyed a nice fun ride yesterday after 6 weeks of only riding to commute and train.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
There's a challenge on Strava each month targetting 400km (~250miles) of activity. Each month I register but never achieve it. This month is the first month I will.
It's been pretty easy in all honesty and that's all thanks to my perseverance and resulting fitness improvements
This was my ride home yesterday. Climb to the woods then about 25km of road.

Back and shoulders. First time doing deadlifts in a while. My back is going to feel that this week.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I'm being assessed by a PT on Wednesday to see if he will take me. He's not cheap, but comes very highly recommended.
I'm feeling comfortable back at 5 miles now, got a 10 mile race in 2 weeks and the marathon at the end of June so though it would be sensible to focus on some overall strength and conditioning

Re: The new improved fitness thread
A quick legs session. My back is still a little tender from the deadlifts so I didn't want to push it.

So which would you consider worse.... riding in constant rain, or constant headwind...??Cav wrote:

Re: The new improved fitness thread
They're both horrendous for different reasons. If I really had to choose I would like to alternate haha.
I did 62km today. It really bloody hurt! My longest ride by nearly 5 miles (8km)
