Just a couple of pics from yesterday. picked Misty up after her spade op and the vets advised is to use this when we go to bed...the outcome was great, she ran around like crazy trying to take it off then knackered herself out and feel asleep like this!!
As most know he has High Functioning Autism, but he's never actually been told. And due to his ASD he's not had the maturity to understand it IMO. But as I'm home for the school holidays and he's been asking a few questions about why he has a special teacher, why he sees Dr Ken, I thought it was time. I have been prepping for this for about 2 years. He took it all well and I feel he has a good understanding. He said it helped him understand some things now. He at first asked if he was in trouble for having it ( I think me saying 'we are going to have a talk' might be responsible for that ) and I nearly turned to blubber at that point. But I we got through it and once we got home I had some books ready to read to him that helped cement the idea.
Funny enough he's been having night terrors all week but slept a solid 10 hrs after telling him.
Happiness is not a destination. It is a way of life.
Sat at Nuneaton train station, waiting for my train to London. So that I can pick up my visa for China. And then I am in China for a week visiting a supplier.

I had the Dyslexia chat with my 7 year old a few months ago, he's been really struggling at school and we'd arranged a test but I had to tell him where and why he was going.
I thought I'd try and get him to relate to my Dyslexia first and asked him if he thought Daddy was clever. He said "No, not really Dad"

Hope the rest of the chat went better!

Thanks for your thought guys
Tough day yesterday all around, I don't know about you lot, but why the hell does it take a funeral to meet up with so many relatives who I have not seen for so many years, it was a sad day, but also I got to speak to some really interesting family members who I have not spoken to for ever.
I know exactly what you mean Frankie, like Kwacky I met cousins I hadn't seen for years, great Aunts and friends of the family that I truly hadn't seen since I was a teenager, it was just a shame I was grieving for my Dad and didn't have the time to spend a couple of hours with each and every one of them.
I really hope the day went well for you and your family Frankie, I guess seeing far flung parts of the family is the silver lining to the dark cloud of loss.
That looks really good, I particularly like the look of the cured meats board, not many places doing that, but I really it (especially with a glass of something good).
Fwiw Mrs Gee is currently making some Cornish Pasties - which are always a treat and just right for a cold January evening.
