Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I rode my Blade from Shawbury back to Reading... in torrential rain and some horrid wind. My visor leaked and I ended up looking more like the joker by the end of it... and very cold.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Riding at motorway speeds (70mph, obviously) it came in from the top. This wasn't just annoying because it was cold and dripping on my face and soaking the squishy sides but then began to steam up my visor and make it smeary with water marks!! Nightmare. If my eye make up hadn't had it from the top leaking then lifting the bottom up to de-steam sure sorted it out.

Just don't do what I did on a motorway services. Kicked my leg up really high and ended up on my back with my head in a bush!Fireblade_Ro wrote:Technically not what I've done to my bike today... more what I prepared for tomorrow practiced with my bag set that fixes onto my luggage rack thing. ... my issue. How the actual **** do you get your leg over the bike with one of them things fully laden?!?!?! Was not a stylish mount/dismount in front of a lot of school kids...

Mike has done the big services on the 748 before and his work is exemplary.
To be honest, I would struggle to justify the costs of a JHP service on what the bike is worth.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
After taking the Blade on an 8hr round trip with panniers I can now say I've mastered the art of the leg kick... I did nearly overcook it and fall backwards in the pissing rain near North Wales at a cafe stop but saved it. I got strange looks from people watching me slide off the side to get off and almost karate kit the thing to get on!!!

Sounds expensive and I imagine Mike is cheaper than JHP but equally as good.duke63 wrote:Belts, oil, valves. Major service due.Blade wrote:Fair point Duke and I know Mike has a great reputation.

Now sat in Riders Ducati while the multi has its first service, also been told there is a recall notice been flagged up on it when I brought it in, apparently there may be a problem with the front forks !! They have to do a visual check ??

started mine last night ,1st time since summer last year.It started on the first push of the button ,blew a bit of white smoke out the back and then settled into a nice idle.
Cant wait to ride it again
