Taking Rob's idea further, how can we use it to get people in? I don't want new posters slapping 5 posts one after another to get the number count up.

What about threads rather than posts? Although it may be difficult to track.

It wouldn't be hard to track a new users posts and threads count.

At least by threads they cant be consecutive, and creates a lot of new topics for everyone to get involved with.
