Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
Just one of a few that needs to leave the Labour Party, but still hanging on like a stubborn skid mark. The Labour Party has always been a broad church and when the right of the party were in charge the left supported it without question. Now the boot is on the other foot the right have done everything they can to stop the party getting into power. It's either their way or no way.
This latest move will undoubtably damage Labour's chances in the next election, but it's a necessary evil and they need to be purged from the party.
I wouldn't have said that a few years ago, but times change.

But the left had something to support with the right in charge.
The right are hardly going to back the communists, sorry socialists, sorry I meant the lefties

The very fact that you're using words like "purged" is a big red warning light.

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
Hopefully we are about to see a big sea change in British politics and the end of the Labour-Tory stranglehold on power.
There is a big wish for this to happen by those who are not ideological about their politics.

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
That depends on what the new party stands for. Is it a new party or just a side shift more to the centre from labour?
If they're hoping to recreate Blair's success they're in for a rough time.

They are setting themselves up as independents. In the current climate that’s probably the best way to be.

Then they'll fail if each of them stands as an independent. It's going to take a while to get people to look at what a candidate is saying about his views on policies.

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
When the voting is so close they might hold considerable power for a coalition. Look how the DUP are stopping the Tories doing exactly what they want. Yet they are very low in number.
Labour would have to rely on the SNP at the moment to have any chance of being in power.

Well, they've started well. Not even one day yet
Love to be a fly on the wall when they all meet up later. "Angela, you had one **** job"

Whilst all these politicians bitch and argue about and amongst each other, the Country is crumbling beneath them.

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
Eleven MPs is enough to swing any Parliamentary voting at this moment in time. Isn’t that more MPs than the DUP?
