We are big into research and lists. We had many conversations about what we want, what we absolutely need and everything in between.

The house has large rooms and the kitchen and bathroom were done in the last couple of years - the rest of the house was done within the last 5. We know we can add value to it and it was the right price.

Another HUGE positive is that it's walking distance to the Fiancé's parents, might not seem great to some of you but she has M.E. so it's nice to know her mum or dad are always near by if ever she needs help while I'm at work

Mate we all have our needs and wants I can see why that is a big thing to you guys and most importantly her. Glad you wrre able to find something close by. It's lovely that you were able to find that perfect home and seems like it's one to grow in to as well which is another ask if you ever want to start a fanily.

Really looking forward to you updating this thread it will be one hell of a workshop when finished.

Will you be able to fit your bike in and out of it?

Oh yes.. designed around the bike

6 foot doors and plenty of space for the bike on paddock stands plus space to work around it. There'll be an L-shaped workbench and shelving unit or 2 making the workbench into a U-shape

Thank you mate I'm really looking forward to it being done so I can stand back with a cider in hand and admire what I've achieved.

It's taking a backseat for a week or 2 as there's a couple of birthdays coming up and I need to concentrate on Uni but it'll be full speed ahead to get the inside in a working state as I need to get the bike prepped by the middle of March. So much going on! haha

I am not surprised but you will get to that point of being able to sit back and relax. It will be a beautiful time for you lol!! Even I can't wait to see it finished! Our of interest are you installing any sort of heater in there, unsure how fisable that is in all honesty but you are an engineer so if there's a way sure you will find it!

I'm planning to wire up a dozen wall sockets in what I think will be useful positions so I can plug a little heater in. I will be insulating the walls and roof long term but that'll have to wait until both Uni and the wall are finished.

End of June I want the whole thing completed.. although patio may have to wait until my bonus in July

Sounds like a sound plan buddy. Well sockets are defo useful, can charge your phone in there while browsing Tankslap while you should be doing your work!

Fascia's on but not finished. Still need silicone, soffits and spot lights.

Floor painted and door blinds fitted (absolute bargain from IKEA.. £5 per 1m strip that you cut to size and they stick to the glass and velcro at the bottom)

Most importantly... the bike is in its new home !!!

No security as of yet but I will be bring both wheels inside the house tonight as some minor form of security.

The walls are getting insulated when I'm back from Portugal in April and covered in Ply. I'll be painting them after that

I'm already on the look out for bike memorabilia as well as some photo frames for my own photos
