Jack, I realise the person who died is a criminal and that's clouding peoples judgement on this story, but all the same, everyone has to be treated equally.
If the burglar had stabbed the old man and killed him, would you be telling the police to let the burglar remain at home while the police investigated the incident before arresting him?

I would hope that the police grant him bail as soon as they possibly can , they can attach conditions so that he cannot return home until investigations are complete and to ensure that he gets proper care after this stressful event .

Haven't the traffic wardens been given the same powers as Police. Dave said they have. They could mobilize their SWAT moped to combat the Massive civil unrest.
