Mallory's around 120miles away from me quickest route. It's quite a journey plus racing too

So I downloaded a sound meter app. I pulled up into a quite side road and revved the nuts off it! Apparently it's read 90db so even if it's wrong it shouldn't be to much higher than that I guess!! Going to book a place for this track day as places are getting booked up very quickly!!

Haven't read all the comments but you will not pass noise test with a scorpion can. My bike with a Leo Vince slip on and secondary silencer measures 96/98dB at all circuits but was over the noise limit at Castle Combe even with a baffle!!

I measured 102 or 103dB with the full stock system at Combe. It's the reason I will never go back there

Not kidding sadly. Depending on the person doing it they let a few people off but it was not the case when I first visited.

I measured 107 without a baffle then 106 with I think.. they wouldn't let me on track.

Does my nut in!! I am unsure how accurate my app is to be honest, it measured 90db but bow it's really got me thinking haha

I checked the max dB capable of being read on my old phone and it was 96dB meaning there's no possible way it can accurately detect the sound level above 96dB. How far a ride is it to Combe for you?

One thing to consider, IAM days are not like normal trackdays, there are fewer bikes and there's not always a bike out on track. This should mean that (on average) the sound level is lower so they should be more lenient on noise testing.

On a sidenote, when is it? If I'm free I might pop over

That test done on the apps I linked to in the earlier thread said they were all pretty inaccurate except for the one app, but as Cav said the limiting factor is the capability of your phone mic.

It also sounds as if the testing equipment at Castle Coombe is inaccurate. His bike shouldn't have a large DB difference between circuits.

They test at 3/4 full rev's, what do the other ciruits do?

Combe do different noise testing to almost every circuit in the UK

Does it not depend on we're they hold the equipment sounds like castle Combe is the exception to the rules and does things a little different to normal
