BMW XR.... My what a bike

Sorry for the delay guys, been flat out. The XR will come in various types - XR / XR Sport / XR Sport SE. In fairness because of the price you are not likely to see many sold which are not the XR sport SE.
It is fully loaded as standard, it pulls like a train, tips in like a sports bike, goes like stink! When I see you in person I will discuss such things ha ha.

Day time riding lights

Gear shift assist pro - Basically, up/down shifts no clutch, slipper clutch system. VERY SMOOTH

Riding modes Pro - Rain/Road/Dynamic/Dynamic pro - Like mine, I leave it in dynamic mode pro ha ha ha
Preparation for GPS - This under sells what it is, obviously wired and cradled ready for GPS, but the NAV 5 does more than tell you where to go, it is an extension of your bikes computer. Look up BMW NAV 5 on you tube for some guys presentation on it, it really does loads of stuff, it awesome. £610.00 worth of awesome.

Cruise control

Hand Guards

LED Indicators

Main Center Stand

L&R Pannier fastenings - i.e al the frame work to accept the panniers

Luggage grid - same as above, to accept the top box.

ALL luggage can have the keys coded so you only have one key to fit all.

There is no keyless ride option that I am aware of.

Can come in white or Red, other options such as alarm, tracker, seat height reduction, low seat.

All the bikes are as standard with ABS & immobiliser.

I hope that covers the spec, launch date 20th June.

PS > I think it has a steering damper on it due to the ballistic take off of the thing!!! we have all done it, a few extra beans and the bike goes light on the front, a perfect time for head shaking, this is no exception keeps it very steady and feeling in control.

I'd be interested to hear what you or Duke thought of the XR post a test ride in comparision to the Multi. Not sure how the XR will go price wise in Aussie but the Multi's even secondhand are pretty pricey!

Agree with kiwi a real world review from current Multi owners Kingfixer and Duke would be good to read.

Personally I prefer an il4 engine configuration to a vtwin in a sportsbike but unsure which engine configuration would best suit me if going for an adventure bike which I have to admit is starting to become very tempting.

I do fancy something a little less mental than a sportsbike as an alternative and it has the added bonus of pillion comfort for taking the kids out on or grabbing a cheeky pub lunch in the country with the missus when the kids are at school.

No slouch at all! And the V-twin pull was rather addictive

Yeah I do like the v twin, I must try the new DVT Multi as well, its getting good reports from new owners.

Out of interest which layout do you prefer in a sportsbike Mick ? Il4 or vtwin ?

Only reason I ask is I prefer a il4 in a sports bike but wondering if the pull and torque of a twin might better suit an adventure bike ?

But agree i think v twins suit the adventure bike market, that's why im interested to try the XR !

I'm never quite sure on the Adventure bike tag for the Multi and this new BMW. 'Adventure' only in so much as you can travel long distances on them yes.

I think that really they are more like upright sportsbikes with big miles potential.

I like my v twins but its each to their own. Its just good we have such a big choice.

I like that front end and have always liked the odd lights on the s1000rr tbh.
