Re: What you watching?
I watched the rugby and was depressed (apart from last 10mins), then Mrs Gee and myself watched an utterly mad version of Richard III with Sir Ian McKellern, set in a facist state in the 1930's. It was Shakespeare Jim, but not as we know it..... and yes, I was surprised there were no Klingons on the starboard bow included. Completely bonkers, but brilliant adaptation.

Re: What you watching?
I remember that version of Richard III....saw it in the movies when it came out and had the same reaction, namely "WTF!!!!"....when I read up on it, it turns out that Shakepeare's plays were apparently intended to be performed in the era of the day, or any period at all for that matter. I think "Much Ado About Nothing" was done the same way, and had the added benefit of showcasing of incredible acting talents of Keanu Reeves, a noted Thespian.

Re: What you watching?
Watched s program last night called speeders. There was an old guy who was part not the community speed watch and he was recording anyone who was speeding even if it was 1MPH over the speed limit...the police actually had to tell him to stop recording such low figures and start recording 6MPH and above!! Was quite funny really

I've seen that version with Keanu Reeves, but tbh thought that Denzel Washington was the stand out actor, really great screen presence, he's good in films, but awesome in that adaptation.D41 wrote:I remember that version of Richard III....saw it in the movies when it came out and had the same reaction, namely "WTF!!!!"....when I read up on it, it turns out that Shakepeare's plays were apparently intended to be performed in the era of the day, or any period at all for that matter. P.S. Worst role for Keanu had to be in Coppola's "Dracula" an English accent so ridiculous it eclipsed Dick Van Dyke's sterling effort in Mary Poppins.

Re: What you watching?
First Dates. Normally a bit of light entertainment but last night's was pretty hard going with people talking about who they had lost.
