I was tempted to get a cheaper one, but my current lg has lasted for about 12 years, so I've had my money out of that one and I'm likely to get value from the next one.

I like lg. A few TV engineers all say LG is the brand they see the least of.

Both mine are LG. Value and performance is spot on.

I went up to Temple Newsom for a walk, covered about 4 miles and found a hairy cow, it was nice to get out for a bit after so long and no issues with the distance.

Going to a party. I only know the host. Judging by the last few weeks of Facebook posts about it, it's going to be a nightmare. Lots of posts about what to wear, what time things are happeneng, what foods are being served, where to stand to have your photo taken

I'm taking a mate. we're meeting early to get pissed before we go.

Paying the price for far too many whiskeys, found a great little whiskey bar and met a Russian concrete business owner who kept trying to give us food left over from his work function at the place.

Judging by the empty bags on the toilet floor, his staff didn’t have much appetite (lol)

Early start to drop the car off for it's detail with a former colleague at 7am, today I was going to pull the bike out and clean it up before I start bolting it back together but the weather says NO! 10% chance of rain = It's raining.
It would be a great opportunity to get to the parts you usually can't but I'm not in a rush I suppose.

Will pick the car up between 6 and 7.

Edit
I got a pic and it's going to look great for about 5 minuets :D

Trying to set up the new TV. Thankfully there's a YouTube video but it looks like it's going to take a while to get it set up as recommended.

That said, it's very impressive on standard settings.

Sorting out a flat tyre on my wife's car. A local garage has said it'll do mobile fitting for free seeing as we're so close

Hospital today and all good news, ribs, collar bone and wrist all healing nicely. My right thumb is not broken either but does have ligament damage so I'm now in a splint and less able to grip things than yesterday.
Booked in for an ultrasound on it in a couple of weeks.

A quote from Oscar Wilde springs readily to mind.. ;)

Heat Pump hot water system going in.

Yet another home energy/automation app to play with :)

This should have as much effect on our grid energy consumption as the battery install has. Currently using 15-22 kW per day for off peak hot water heating. That will drop to 3-5 kW per day and the ability to use excess solar rather than lose it to grid export.

Is this a sub-ground wet system, and if so is it vertical or horizontal pease ?

Bugger all.... Its blowing a gale with horizontal rain outside. I have plans, but I have a feeling I will just veg out today binging tv and listening to music. Then I will spend 20 mins playing the three cords I know on the guitar until my fingers hurt due to lack of playing.... get bored and binge more tv. where's the Christmas film channel lol.
Happy Weekend all.

I'm staying indoors today. I might even treat myself to an afternoon nap

Im jealous of the potential nap.

We do an activity advent calendar for my eldest and today's activity is putting up the outside Christmas lights... so we need to find something else to do I think

It’s a heat exchanger system using CO2 as a refrigerant. Insanely efficient compared to an electric system.

https://reclaimenergy.com.au/products/residential/

We’ve used 3kW cover 6 showers and other usage over 24 hrs and on a 400L system never got close to running out of hot water. That energy consumption was completely covered by solar production plus another 8 kW towards house usage on a day it rained over 15mm.

Here's one I did, it's 1.8Mw

and here's the thermal store it's connected to, it's 3 million gallons on a heat network in Denmark

I may be biased, but CO2 and Propane heat pumps are the future

Well, if you are going to be a show off :D

But, yeah on the small scale I’ve experienced, CO2 is amazingly efficient and I’m gutted it took me this long for on work it out!

I realise that you've got a decent sized collection of sprogs Monty, but that's one hell of a lot of showers (even by the standards of these modern generations ;) )

I'm seriously thinking of taking the plunge, and ditching my oil fired boiler (we've never had mains gas out here, in the back of beyond) and installing a ground source heat pump system. When I built my house I couldn't afford the necessary investment, although I wanted to. Technology has moved on since, and I don't think it's considered such a novelty as it was when I was making my enquiries 30'ish years ago. I did, however, plan the "wet central heating radiators" at around 30% above the btu requirements for each room in the hope that "one day"..

Any observations from our forum's resident extensive knowledge base will be gratefully received.. :)
