Just been doing the Halloween sweet distribution to the local youngsters.

Earlier I had a walk to the Doctors as they didn't have a copy of my discharge letter from York hospital, once the receptionist made a copy of it she had no idea what to do with it... Now, this is the same person I spoke to yesterday on the phone who asked me to bring it over.

I also had a dental appointment for a check-up as I kind of forgot to go a decade ago and it's just not seemed important, my teeth are good, no bad breath, pain or bleeding gums, until he started poking them with a pointy thing.
I did drive to the dentist, first time I've driven since the accident and had no issues at all, even the arm rest is perfect for resting my sling on. My insurance is suitably vague, if I feel like I have full control and can do an emergency stop then I'm covered.


Tomorrow, Bike browsing with Sergio. Should be interesting.

Cycling. Got a quick 20-mile road ride in this morning, and found a brand new pair of Underarmor sunglasses for my troubles. It's made my day.
I'll now stick them in a drawer with the other 14 million pairs.

Slowly getting active again now I can do without the sling, I can drive my car since it's not got a gear stick and took Gaz bike browsing today, he's trying to choose a modern naked bike with a 1000cc+ engine, but he doesn't like the low nose/headlight on modern bikes, and doesn't want an older model.
I keep trying to push him towards the mk1 MT-10 or S1000R, I've ridden both and owned a MT for 2 years as I found the BMW to be amazing but too good, Clinical is the word I used, where as the MT was a bit rough around the edges which gave it more character and it was more comfortable for me.

Yesterdays timeline

Up at 5.30 to make Jess her travel mug coffee for her drive to work, quick coffee for myself until kids start to get up and ready for school.
First kid down to the bus stop at 7, second kid down at 7.30.
One load washing down and hung out, another load on.
Byron driving practice into town. Step sons pants dropped to the tailors, groceries done Long way home to get Byron a bit more time behind the wheel.
Second load washing hung out, load folded.
Next 4 hrs mowing and line trimming our small gully back section. 1/2 hrs mowing interlude to pick up Jorja and some friends as their school bus broke down 2 kms from school. Finish yard work. It’s 32°C by this point.
Clean up, last load washing in and folded, homework help for Jorja, start cooking dinner as Jess and her son get back home.
Sit down to 1.5 hrs of pre employment onboarding nonsense and signed the employment contact.
9pm finally get put something on the telly and promptly fall asleep 10 mins in

This is how my days have typically been since redundancy. It’s been a hectic year in this household and I’ve been glad to be here to support everyone, but looking forward to not just being a house b*tch.

Today I took Sergio for a light lunch then to mine to collect the Guzzi, it had somehow sprouted a Givi top box rack and plate, weird..
Then I got a nice E-mither from Bennetts
£1537.96 for the GS and the online quotation page wont even give me a figure for the XR.

Tomorrow I'm off for my Flu vaccination and maybe covid too, then by mid afternoon I should have a verdict on the frame of the XR, If that's good then Insurance should be easy to arrange so It's got theft cover while it's being worked on.

Busy hour or so this morning, power went off to the freezer in the garage so I checked the fuse in the plug, okay, old 1960's fuse box, all good so after a few more checks and tests shoving my multimeter in plug sockets I narrowed it down to 1 of 2 connections, power off, found a loose wire in the plug socket, confirmed power off again with the multimeter and corrected that. All okay now and Sundays Pork joint is safe.

Next job, reset all the clocks including the boiler... Awwwww shite, why has that got 4 bar of pressure in it, the green ends at 2.2 on the gauge... Laying on a hard floor fiddling with plumbing to disconnect the filler transfer pipe to drain some out is a special kind of fun with fractured ribs/wrist.

Next, pick my mother up and take her into town, call in the chemist and the shops on the way back.

Now I'm just relaxing a bit and letting the next pair of pain killers do their thing.

Got home to find the V5 for the bike, unfortunately not my bike, Sergio's Moto Guzzi... We are having a trip over to Superbike Factory Bradford in the morning.

Edit it's no problem, as a bike dealer they can Email the DVLA and fix that without adding another keeper to the bikes history

Family errands, 4 hours and 150 miles in the car using almost exactly half the battery, not bad. Longest drive so far in it and it's really comfortable and quiet so the sound from the speakers is really good. So 32 Kwh used at £0.22 = £7.04, it would have been £20 minimum in Diesel in the Volvo I had.

Same again on Monday.

Not a massive Orb fan, but I would have loved to see Osric Tenticles again. I saw them when they supported Hawkwind sometime in the drug induced 90s.

They both put on an excellent show.

I've got loads of holiday left. So I took a day off, sloobed and caught up with my sleep.

Cycling was a bit of a schlep today...it was windy as all hell. And cold.
