No, primary home. I've been renting a one bedroom flat for the last 18 months while we sorted out the financial part of the divorce. All sorted now, and need more space for the kids (and bikes).
Sorry to hear this fella. Never an easy time. I hope it’s all worked out sensibly.
All good mate, we separated over two years ago and have been co-parenting. The first 6 months were a little tricky as I was in Wales and three hours away from the kids, but we got through it.

Mobile phone contract renegotiation. Mine was £45 a month with 20Gb as I had a phone on contact until last month, plus the. Two kids phones on the account as well with 5Gb, normal bill was £88 a month.
Now all 3 have unlimited calls, texts, and data for £57 a month. Happy with that.

They're not the easiest, I'm just glad she feels she can talk to me about stuff like that

Keeping the communication lines open by supporting and not judging, listening and not always trying to fix, and listening to the nonsensical babble so they trust you’ll always be there to listen regardless are the biggest lessons I’ve learnt with my kids.
If you can have a conversation about periods with your 12 yr old daughter you are doing an amazing job and she must have lots of trust with you.
When Jess was going through her lady garden issues that led to the hysterectomy, my daughter (11 ant the time) asked a few questions. Out with the sketch pad and I drew and explained all the anatomy and what the issues were, which lead to explaining periods as well. I asked if her mum had discussed it with her at all and she replied “She just told me I’ll bleed once a month and it will sux”
She’s now 15 and been through hell the first few years of periods but has told Jess (she’d never admit it to me

) that my talks with her helped immensely.
So yeah, hard conversations, but keep up the great work Jon, it makes more difference than you will appreciate.

Open communication is so essential. My daughter confessed that it was our relationship which stopped her from going through with her suicidal intentions. She knew she could tell me anything, I would listen but wouldn't judge. There's always going to be stuff they won't tell us and there's stuff we might not want to hear. Parenting isn't always easy, but it's more of a struggle being a young person these days.

The pressures they are under these days are crazy. Social media has so much to answer for.

Enjoying a very rare thing, free electricity!
It was only for an hour, but needless to say I made best use of it.

Remortgage complete date provided. Now I can breathe again and start getting quotes for a new boiler and some new windows and doors. Shame it isn't for something more exciting!

How about a ground source heat pump then, instead of the boiler.? -That would be more interesting wouldn't it Cav ???

Got the charge point installed for the car, the engineer was in a rush and put it inside the garage at first so I would have had to cut a big hole in the door to pass the cable through to charge the car, so he grudgingly moved it to where I had asked him to fit it in the first place.
Supplied and fitted for free so I can't complain too loudly, but he didn't tie it in to the solar either.

Emailed the right people at work with my 7 week sick note, because I have been there over a year (nearly 3) I get 6 weeks at full pay, then up to another 6 at 50%, so not terrible.
On Sunday 13th I broke stuff, mostly a friends bike but also my left collar bone, fractured my right wrist and 6 left ribs, thankfully at the back where they barely move. The doctors were very impressed that I was wearing a back protector and mentioned that it could easily have been my spine... I hit a pothole as I was sliding.
Anyone want to buy a minty 2023 GSA? Sergio and his wife were trying it out at the time so It's great, his S1000xr though...
I may have bought that as a restoration project, we're getting the frame inspected, if its good then I get to go to BMW with a box of tissues and a credit card, the parts bill is going to hurt.
