I braved the British weather.
It wasn't that bad to be honest.
At least the sun is coming up a bit earlier now.

Mrs Gee has the Daytona Ladystars, bit pricey but great boot when they're worn in, plus they've got a Cuban heel so you are steadier with feet down.
If you're replacing trashed kit, look at the prices of made to measure, it's not as expensive as you may think and it is a 100% fit.

The ride home was bad. Like you I had to struggle with the winds. Doing a racer tuck at 40mph on an A road made me look like a bigger tool than usual
P.S. Welcome to the site

Refitted and adjusted the levers and switches to the new Ducabike adjustable bars. Looks like they will make quite a difference and the offset change to them feels good too.
Just need to wait until Spring now for some decent weather.

Fitted the Oberon clutch slave cylinder this morning, wow !! It has transformed the bike, I hated the original clutch, it was just too severe and crap to use when trying to control the bike in traffic etc This new one makes the clutch beautifully smooth and a lighter to use....bang on !!!
A doddle to fit as well !,,,,

Interesting, Mick. I had never had an issue with the clutch on mine ....until that 20 miles of filtering we had to do on the M25 when we went to Europe. I suspect that let some air into the system as i had difficulty getting first gear for much of the rest of the trip, something i had never had before.
Does the Oberon clutch slave make much difference to the biting point of the clutch?

Duke I suspect the problems with first gear changes on the Euro trip were possibly with chain adjustment being a little loose which is a common fault. If there was air in the system (unlikely on a closed system) it would effect every gear ratio change.

That does depend a little on the bike I think. The RSV lets air into the clutch system somewhere, when it happens first is really notchy and nutural is virtually impossible.
Griff showed me a trick of bleeding the clutch from the nipple on the bars, really quick and simple and gets any air out really quickly.

That's when bleeding a system though Nutz and if no nipple is located at the lever which there often isn't you can crack the banjo bolt to have the same effectm
As far as im aware air will not get into a sealed hydraulic system unless you have an issue with a seal or air remained in the system from an incorrect bleeding so IMO unlikely in dukes case it was air.
Also as said earlier if it was air in the hydraulic system every gear change would be effected not just 1st to 2nd as in Dukes case.

Yes it does, but the difference now is at least you can let the clutch out in a smooth action as give it some throttle and pull away, before once the clutch reached the biting point that was it there was no play with it and it also bogged down as soon as you tried to pull away, the dealer acknowledged he had heard of this and said the clutch works better in 'sport' mode rather than 'touring' which I keep it most of the time, which I found a pretty strange answer. Anyway asking around the consensus was fit an Oberon slave cylinder so I did, only took about 45 mins.

Gave it a decent thrashing into work, as far as the conditions would allow. It felt good to be able to crack open that throttle.

I spanked it on the way home as well. Let's just say I won't be passing judgement on anyones filtering for a while
