Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Trashed it
A cat ran out from the path and I couldn't avoid it. Hit with front wheel and bike went down on my right side... very badly bruised but no cuts or breaks thanks to my kit.
Now need to calculate the costs of repairs (already know about hole in the engine casing... broken off brake lever and a well used crash bung twisted beyond belief!) and replacing my kit... as I can't claim off a now dead moggy.
The boots defo saved my foot - I was trying to brake as the bike landed on me hence the nice mark to the right boot!
Any advice about how to avoid cat-astrophies in the future will be welcome!!!

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Ah crap, That's not good news.
Not much you can do in those situations. It's easy to give advice but as Mike Tyson says, "everyone has a game plan until they take a punch to the face"
The usual recommendation is not to brake but it's a natural reaction and without seeing what happened there's no knowing if that's the right advice.
Shout out what bits you need, someone might be able to help.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I could do with advice as to where I can go to try out new kit near to Reading... I've had the kit I trashed for 6yrs now!! I'm titchy... and female... which makes it really hard to get kit that fits.
Like... I need boots with a flexible ankle, because I'm on my tip toes when I put my feet down. Anyone know a good boot that offers this range of movement?

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
start a new topic for your kit and bike parts as not everyone reads these long threads.
In the meantime I'll have a think.

Not a good day but glad you're ok. I'd jump on the M4 to this place in Swindon. They have a massive stock and discounted prices.

Ah crap sorry to hear this Ro. Glad your kit saved you always a good investment.
You have got Camberly Infinity warehouse. It's very easy to find near Tesco and M&S off the roundabout. Got a whole range of stuff and can try everything on. Swindon is a good shout too pretty big warehouse there too by the Blade (Triumph, Kawasaki, Honda etc used to be there mind, you also have the little warehouse in Slough (used to be Ford then turned into Yamaha by the Nissan dealership and DVLA center) however that prob would of be closed by now that was a few years back I last popped into there.
Hope you get your bike sorted quickly

Thanks Ross, I'll be making sure to visit some of these shops mentioned
I'll ring them before I make the trip to make sure they actually stock little person sizes!
