But on a spoiler seen the Senior and southern 100, had rain had wind and lovely sun, also seen a man almost choke to death (literally) and today we are hoping to get up the mountain!

Blinking he'll mountain road - 131MPH (LEGAL) when I was rolling off on heavy brakes prob more before I had rolled off. One of the best experiences I've had on the bike. No idiots luckily and getting quieter by the day. 1299 rider - balls of steel...wrote up later at some point

Proper was mate. Really fast section of road. Had a play with a Fireblade too I didn't let him get away lol

It's a nice section of road and you can get a decent speed up if there's not much traffic about and you know the layout of the road. When I did it on the Versys I really had to use all of the road to carry any sort of speed otherwise the really crap acceleration showed its self up. Looking as far down the road as possible is key IMO.

One of the IAM examiners said that a test of how fast a rider really is is by putting them on a road they don't know. They you'll see their confidence in themselves and the bike they're riding. For me The Mountain section is probably the best test of that. You know if you get it right you fly. You know if you get it wrong you go flying.

That defo is right. Well i found it really stramge to be crossing white lines etc. I did it only twice (gooseneck) which is first corner and around mid way through the section. Both were when I was overtaking. I'll be honest it just goes against everything you get taught so pretty much stuck on my side of the road unless I was overtaking. I would have crossed the lines more if I had got up their 5-6 times to start getting the fact into my head of being able to cross all the lines lol.

Luckily both times were pretty quiet. First time I took it nice and easy trying to gauge it. The second time I gave it a bit lol!

I did wonder this myself kwacky but assumed if the road is temporarily changed to one way, then the road markings for two directional traffic would no longer apply during the temporary change of use.

I take it my assumption is incorrect then Kwacky?

That's what I mean by closed. So if it's TT week and the Mountain section is closed to allow traffic one way, then the double whites don't apply.

If the road is open then the double whites do apply.

Yep....it's a spot-on comment.
I always think a good way to see "where you're at" is to ride your best canyon road, and then try riding it at night.
Suddenly that road you "know like the back of your hand" is not so familiar any more.
