Re: What are you doing today ??
I've had to come in to the office as my boss is going away on holiday so he wants a catch up.
For reasons unknown I've got no reception at all on my phone, so I'm having to do some actual work.

In future - if it doesnt serve a purpose or going to get used its going in the bin immediately. I hate clutter.

The only time I've heard that acronym is Deep Vein Thrombosis, a blood clot in a vein. I hope they get it treated quickly if it is that.

What he said
I have been given a dose of blood thinners into my chest I imagine that was to dissolve it, they will have a better idea once the CT is done they will also be able to confirm the pneumonia and infection diagnosis which isn't 100% although the infection markers in my blood tests would seem to be conclusive, normally an infection has a numerical value around 5 mine was reading over 210

Re: What are you doing today ??
CT scan results no DVI, no pneumonia, some infection and a huge tumour, more tests scheduled.

Re: What are you doing today ??
The large cloudy area they thought was pneumonia is a tumour with nodes across the airways and indications of more in the lymph nodes above the kidneys , from what they were saying it seems quite far advanced, at some point I will be going for a full body PETCT scan to discover the full extent

Re: What are you doing today ??
I would be doing it too but try not to draw your own conclusions before you've had the full assessment. I'm glad you went to your doctors in the first case though, given yourself the best chance.
I hope you have good news at the end of this.

My thoughts are with you too, at least it's been found and they are going to run the right tests.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Biopsy scheduled for tomorrow lunchtime and with a bit of luck I'll be home tomorrow evening, it's non operable but they will be looking at alternative strategies to stop the growth and possibly shrink it too, the infection has almost cleared and I feel much better, although I am still short of breath and coughing up blood it's not as bad as it was, I will be getting treated as an outpatient until/unless things get worse or better. Thanks for the good wishes it helped for the short while I was in despair, I have got my head around the situation and I'm feeling quite hopeful for the future.

Jack, hope you get the best treatment and prognosis.
Never easy to know what to say in such circumstances but our thoughts are with you and if you need something we can help with then do ask.
