Re: What are you doing today ??
Finally flying offshore for my last week of my swing.
We are flying back through Dili in Timor again now rather than direct, first time in a couple of years.
Jess is still struggling with nausea, body aches and fatigue unfortunately. Day 8 for her today.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Well yesterday I got as close to home as Brisbane. Because we go through Timor again now we miss all the direct flights home.
But Jess flew up and meet me here, so both flying back to Sydney today.
But we have and continue to have massive amounts of rain along the East Coast and both the bridges I can use to get up my hill are under water. Again. 3rd time in 3yrs. In the previous 8 yrs I have lived up there it’s happened twice.
So we will have to drive around the long way yet again. Extra couple of hours, but luckily I have good company
With the forecast weather they expect them to be closed for a couple of weeks.

And now we are stuck at Brisbane airport. Airport has been closed due to severe weather, and all flights are delayed till further notice with the immediate flights actually cancelled.
I really am done with flying away for work.

But.... more alone time with Jess and Gin! Just trying to find the positives!kiwikrasher wrote:And now we are stuck at Brisbane airport. Airport has been closed due to severe weather, and all flights are delayed till further notice with the immediate flights actually cancelled.

Yeah that does suck though. Obviously it just shortens your home stretch and never the work stretch.

In the office an hour early courtesy of a screaming baby.
Apparently he'd wet through his sleeping bag so needed changing, then the Wife got him settled before realising the bed sheet was wet too. By this point I just told her I'm going to work, bring him into our bed. She could really use some good sleep bless her.

Home at last. 36 hrs of commute. Road around the back had a landslide 20 minutes after we drove through.

Drive to the office, 200 miles.
Tough afternoon work.
Checked into the hotel.
Going for beers, pool, and food on one if the vendors.
I guess the day is getting better

Since then we have had another 240mm of rain. Won’t be open anytime soon!

Road around the back had closed completely now due to landslides, so proper stuck here again. Let’s hope the pub helicopters food in again . We are good for about 4-5 days but is going to get sketchy soon.
