Re: Brexit thread
Looking at it from a 'running a business effectively' point of view. If they cant do that then they wont employ people.

Re: Brexit thread
So the Commons has rejected the v Lords recommendation that EU citizens should not be forced to carry ID cards
Basically it means that EU citizens living here are being treated differently to everyone else.

Re: Brexit thread
TBH I will have to apply for a residency card at the end of this year, so it's similar to that i guess.Kwacky wrote:So the Commons has rejected the v Lords recommendation that EU citizens should not be forced to carry ID cards

Not long now until we pull the EU plug
So here's some light reading about the next 11 months

Re: Brexit thread
Too many people don't care. They really believe that Brexit will be done by the end of this week.

All I know this week is that I cease to be legally allowed to live in my home and have to apply for permission to live here. Thanks Brexit!Kwacky wrote:Too many people don't care. They really believe that Brexit will be done by the end of this week.
I also permanently lose any voting rights in the country I live in. Thanks Brexit.

Re: Brexit thread
Are you going to remain a UK national? What's the pros and cons of switching nationality?

Re: Brexit thread
Switching nationality is difficult.
We will apply for residency. Sad thing is we have to justify our existence, prove what income we have, medical insurance etc. Not guaranteed that's for sure.
If not, I will be allowed to stay in europe for limited time each year.
I really don't think leavers understand the reach of their decisions.

Re: Brexit thread
Can you not have dual nationality?
Watched a film on Saturday about a guy who cycled round the world. He was saying how great the EU was as he could cycle anywhere without problem, until he got to the Russian border and they refused his bicycle entry. No reasons given.
I will piss myself laughing if those with a criminal record are refused entry when they go searching the sun in Europe.

Re: Brexit thread
You can. Getting a French passport requires a high degree of french skill and cultural understanding - the bar is high.duke63 wrote:Can you not have dual nationality?

Re: Brexit thread
So another lie about the EU called out then?
The reason people come to the UK is because the British Govt, not the EU, make it so easy.
Time to start learning French then. I did suggest to the wife we got a French maid in as it would make learning French easy.

Re: Brexit thread
I thought Brexit would mean money pouring into the Country and we would all have so much cash we didn't know what to do with it?
Seems that was another lie.
Instead we have the Tory begging bowl out.
