Once you get you head round the tech and level of components fitted I think the prices are reasonable.

5 years ago bikes were cheaper but they didn't have abs, traction, power modes, quickshifters, slipper clutches, semi active suspension, foreged wheels, etc..... All that kit costs money especially as its all been added with minimal if any weight increase which has meant the use of expensive exotic material which has further increased prices.

The difference between a 2008 Blade, Gixer or R1 and the modern class leaders like R1M, S1000rr and RSV4 factory is huge.

Mcn have just posted a YouTube video of them testing it,it seems the electronics are way more advanced than anything else out there

I agree Kwacky the design of the sponsors graphics is a little busy but it's the first shot of a race going 2015 R1 I've seen and its the bike in race trim more than the sponsors graphics that are blowing me away. I think the road bike is a little messy in parts near the rearsets with cables and clips and other bits and bobs everywhere but in race trim the new R1 looks stunning IMO. Just imagine it in speed block racing colours that would be stunning.

I love the sound of the slide control the bike has. It appears it may allow any lesser skilled numpty to get the rear sliding without to much danger of a high side or low slide.

It does sound good Duke I agree. Apparently tc level 1 on the ten allows controlled slides but I guess its just a case of having the minerals and confidence to lean on these rider aids. From years of leaning to be smooth and progressive I think it will be a quantum shift for me to be very aggressive and abrupt with the power delivery. Might be a case of being an old dog who is too old to learn new tricks in my case

coming out of devils at mallory would be a good test,im a pussy on that corner and dont open the throttle anywhere near early or hard enough
All because Its downhill off camber on the cold left hand side of the tyre

I had a few slides on the Dyatona 600 at that corner. Ever since I've tiptoed around it.

Tamworth Yamaha have sold about 14 so far. They don't get them in until April.

Sounds like it's going to be popular.

Every single one of the £18500 special edition ones sold out immediately upon released online. You can't get the Ohlins specced one until 2016 now apparently.

When I test rode the s1000rr the guy showing me round the bike tried to order the R1m version in November and they had sold out.
