Re: What are you doing today ??
Just provided my details to the Police after having spoken to someone on a bridge at 1130 this morning.
The guy was middle aged, semi-scruffy and walking without purpose. I felt unsure so joined the bypass to loop back. Driving on the bypass I noticed the guy change direction and also approach the guard rail. I pulled up and asked if he was okay.. he kind of laughed at me and said he's fine before walking off.
Well about 45 minutes ago my mother-in-law drove past the same bit of road and said there are multiple ambulances and police.
I feel very anxious right now and trying to stop my imagination running away with the possibly unconnected details.

You did more than most Cav, if it was the same guy , he was already set in his mind before you spoke to him. Don’t take on any guilt over that.

Re: What are you doing today ??
It seems I was anxious over nothing. By the time I came home the road was fully open which would suggest nothing happened in the end. I also didn't hear back from the Police. For some reason I then became anxious that I was wasting peoples time.kiwikrasher wrote:You did more than most Cav, if it was the same guy , he was already set in his mind before you spoke to him. Anyway, thankfully I think that guy is alive and that's what counts

I'm glad I'm working from home today. We've had our first frost of the season.

Had breakfast
Watched the Rememberance Service
Had a shower

Planning the babys nursery... do we go cheap and cheerful or spend the extra to get actual good quality furniture to last hopefully 2 or 3 children. That's the latest question.

Your call.
Just don't spend much on clothes. Get the cheap stuff. It gets trashed and doesn't last long regardless how much you pay for it.

Re: What are you doing today ??
The first "going home" outfit, yeah get something nice. After that, cheap as you like.
Furniture is tricky, just remember how fast they grow. We got most of our kids furniture second hand. That allowed us to get nice stuff, but not spend a fortune on something they either grow out of it decide they don't like any more.
Now they're 8 and 11 we've only got one piece of original furniture from when James was little.

We all know the indicative symptoms of CV19 ( Cough, loss of taste/smell, raised temperature etc...)Kwacky wrote:...Lay done on the bed and had an unexpected 4 hour snooze
However...
The first symptoms are predominantly headache and fatigue.

No headaches. The fatigue is caused by my lack of sleep, thanks to the constant pain in my shoulder.

Base it on either....a) It'll last two or three kids so you get your money's worth.
Or b) You're only doing it once, so do it right.
Either way MiniCav1 comes out a winner.

Just found out that due to our reduced manning thanks to COVID issues, for my next two weeks offshore I will be covering 2 positions on night shift

I've got workmen digging up the road and pavement right outside my house.
Someone must have done a shit job, it's only 5 years old.

I'm probably about to jinx myself, but the first night of two jobs wasn't to bad last night. Steady but not flogged.
They have given me a helper, but he's from our onshore plant, and has never been offshore, so I'm having to train him up, so it's not actually any help atm, but he rides bikes so having good chats on our breaks and he seems to catch on quick.
He has a dozen odd bikes, some offroad and some not going, but he does have a old 750 bevel drive Ducati and a DS 1000 Multistrada. He's restored them both.
