Re: What are you doing today ??
Spending too much time thinking really.
Mothr in law has gone down dramatically in the last week. We got the hospice involved yesterday and i took her to the hospital this morning to have her blood tested. It was a job to fight the tears back, TBH.
Wife just rang to say she has been ambulanced to the hospital as the test showed she deseprately needs blood platelets.
We were determined to keep her out of hospital as the chances are we might not see her again in the current climate. Unfortuantely its been taken out of our hands.
Sometimes i just wish they would make people comfortable and let them go to sleep, its cruel to keep her going, IMHO.

Yes, totally agree with you Duke.....at some point you're only delaying the inevitable & prolonging the suffering & anguish for all concerned.

Just had to carry a colleague to the sick bay at work after he had a bad reaction to peanuts.
Total dead weight and not a light boy either. Half way up the stairs he vomits all over me
The good news is, vomiting on me seemed to get the poison out of his system and after being checked over by the medic he is OK but stood down for the night.

Don't wash your car for a few months and buy the bike with the savings.

Get yourself a Business Bounce Back loan, buy a new bike and do a runner in 12 months time.

Jess and I are out in the city for a kid free weekend. Still heavy on COVID restrictions so it’s pre bookings for bars and 2 hr max sittings. We managed to get back into a bar we really like for second sitting and the staff said they keep us here

Happiness is not a destination. It is a way of life.

Enjoy it, Kiwi! Been a long time for any level of normality for you.
I'm laying a new hallway floor today. Been a learning curve and a lot of swearing.

A high quality laminate. Proper wooden flooring is too much and we don't want carpet or vinyl. Saved £120 on fitting costs and to be fair, we've done a bloody good job. Finishing it tomorrow

There's a bit of bowing at the one end because the floor underneath sloped away by an inch. We put extra insulation and a sheet of ply underneath to help. The ply is bowed for now but that should settle... we hope.D41 wrote:Give it a week or two. It'll look like a log raft.![]()

I'll get a picture of it this evening hopefully but the photos we've tried to get so far, the colour looks hugely different. Sometimes it looks brown, sometimes grey. It's both colours, not just one.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Sending my CV for assessment online, I'm not getting any response from the jobs that I am applying for.
There's always lorry driving, I should have no problems with the test but the hours can make what I'm doing now look brilliant... There is the potential for way more money to get debt's paid.

Careful with those things as it suggest quite a few things for me to change in my CV yet I got great feedback from probably half of my interviewers on the CV.
If you want I'll send you mine to mull over?
