Their preference is to relocate Darwin for a minimum of 1 roster cycle (days/break/nights/break) which is 15 weeks. They will pay for accommodation and a small allowance. I got my notice today that i had to accept or decline that relocation within 24 hrs. I declined it in 5 mins. I'm not going to be away from my kids for that long, especially not Byron, as I'm the only one that does his therapies and keeps momentum on his strategies. He basically treads water when he's with his mum. I do what I can over the phone, but it's hard to get forward momentum because he needs consistent and compassionate guidance. That's not his mum's jam unfortunately.C00kiemonster wrote:Blimey Kiwi.
What have your employer said? Would they help with quarantine costs?
So the companies standpoint now I've declined that is that if my area becomes a hot spot, and I have to do the govt. quarantine, is that i do the first week in my own time and pay for that week myself ($1,250) and the second week is in lieu of the company quarantine we have been doing anyway (to prevent COVID getting offshore) and they will cover that weeks cost.
If due to flight unavailability (because of lack of demand, who wants to fly to Darwin if they have to quarantine) I cannot get to Darwin, then it's unpaid till I can, and I lose all my entitlements while unpaid, including health insurance.
