Stripped it down for a good clean, adjusted and cleaned the chain now for a bit of lube then put it in the garage awaiting new bling (clap)

Looks good without a hugger. Really makes the rear end look wasp like and compact / tiny. Is the new hugger a shorter one ?

Got the track bike out so I could organise the shed a bit better.. I can now see my desk again, Decided to give the rest of the black paint a polish, it really does come up well.

I think what didn't help is getting up close and personal with the bike, it has a bit of light corrosion here and there, I bought it from a coastal area. One of the brake caliper bolts was rather chalky. I'll make sure I give everything a good coat in WD-40 and use anti-seize on reassembly. Don't care about aesthetics really, just functionality.

Oh! speaking of aesthetics I must go order my tankslap decals right now!!
Sounds good preventative maintenance is always better than corrective maintainence.

Have you looked at Halfords professional tools as they are a fraction of the cost of snap on but also have a lifetime guarantee. Plenty of stuff on eBay and I'm sure some sellers would ship down under.
I actually have a full chest of tools, rather well tooled up from my Aircraft Tech days. I was just to lazy to go get the proper drive and hex bit, and it was only the last one that gave me the most grief. (wasntme)

Today I picked up my sexy new rubber! (rock)

I found out today that the hugger that I ordered doesn't have a chain guard on it, and looking at the picture of the hugger it seems to sit on the chain guard so I may have get myself one.

Ordered the chain guard, had a heated discussion with powerbronze as the hugger and bellypan in the new design come in black, white and carbon look but not in carbon so I ordered the black ! Now the chain guard they only have in carbon. !!!!!
I'll see what it all looks like when it turns up.

For what its worth if your unsure return the chain guard as I don't have one on my bike. The hugger and belly pan will look good in solid black as will match the wheel and engine respectively. Post up some photos when you get them installed mate.

The problem I have is the brake cable and the cable for the abs are normally attached to the chain guard so to keep it away from the rear wheel, I honestly looked at over a 100 images of different CB1R's and there was only one without a chain guard, if you luck in this pic you can clearly see the cables on show and it was only for that reason I wanted one, but I'll open each box with the intention of sending them back if not completely satisfied bud.
