MSS Kawasaki
I sent my gearbox to them on Thursday and received a phone call today with a quote.
First impressions looked bad and I could see damage to 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th input gears which would be £520 (parts) + £150 charge for 4 replacements.
Got my quote today at just £258. 6th output is to be replaced and the others machined. I also get a bobble hat thrown in
Happy customer over here.. £400 to go towards suspension service and Euro trip.

Re: What do you want to praise today?
No QS but I want one!!
This gearbox has had 30k miles of abuse. I've put 18k on it and none of those have been sensible. The most sensible was when I was riding with Kwacky and Frankie to be honest.
I clutchless upshift and use the slipper for the downshifts

Re: What do you want to praise today?
Nothing serious. I got a thorn in my finger last weekend when clearing the garden and it was sore, went away and got sore again yesterday. The next available GP appointment was 16 December.StMarks wrote:duke63 wrote:When you go to the Minor Injuries Dept and the nurse is proper hot and fit![]()

You weren't born this decade you know mate.!
Seems even more probable that you were just there for the eye candy.

Seriously though, I know keeping your tetanus up to date is crucial, and
is scandalous imho.duke63 wrote:.... The next available GP appointment was 16 December..

Re: What do you want to praise today?
Years ago my GP told me to always keep the tetanus jobs up to date - his argument was that you would look stupid dying of lockjaw.
Its stayed with me and my last tetanus jab was over 15 years ago.

Re: What do you want to praise today?
I got a Phoenix palm spike (thorn) injury to my finger years ago. I MTFU about it till at work I couldn’t hold tools in that hand. My GP sent me to the hospital and after an ultrasound I was in surgery that day to have a 6mm section of barb removed from my finger that had been in there for two weeks and was causing blood poisoning.D41 wrote:A thorn, Duke??

This whole ‘men need to harden up’ mentality is toxic and part of the reason I had such a drama with my spine issues because I ignored symptoms and let it get much worse.

No doubt a lot of men have died from mtfu rather than getting properly treated.

Their online chat is one of the best I've come across but they have struggled if you have 2 queries in the same chat

Specsavers.
Had to use them a couple of times recently. My lenses came through the post but they looked like it had been through a car crusher. Royal Mail delivered the remains in a plastic bag. Royal Mail were shite and told me about the process I had to go through to get them replaced.
I called Specsavers. They asked for a photo. I got a full replacement set 2 days later.
Lat weekend I had my contact lense and eye test. All dealt with at the appointed time, in and out within 20 minutes. Friendly and helpful staff.

Re: What do you want to praise today?
Chichester Caravans on eBay.... Yes, a good news eBay story.
I've been after an air awning for the caravan as they're much easier to put up and pack away than ours, however they're bloody expensive. One came up on eBay and was messaging the seller, they dropped the price and offered free P&P which is pretty good in it's own right. However, as they updated the listing, before I got a chance to hit buy it someone else got in there first !! Now they could have just taken the money and said sorry, but they honoured the fact that I had been speaking to them and refunded the other purchaser. Nice to see there are still some decent folk about in business.
