I've got a doctor's appointment. I've been feeling run down and pretty flat for a couple of weeks. I feel as if a cold is about to come on but never does.

I've got a pain in my rib cage that feels like bruising but I don't remember injuring it.

I had a call with the doc this morning but he wants me in for blood tests and mentioned they might book me in for an x-ray.

Have you had the antibody test and/or tested positive for Covid at all? It sounds a lot like ME which itself is essentially what they're calling long covid.

I've got vitiligo. It's an auto immune condition and it's not uncommon for vitiligo suffers to have another auto immune condition so I imagine that's what the tests will be for - to see if anything else is going on.

Ah okay, I didn't know that. So you may find you produce a positive ANA result if that's the case. It isn't at all conclusive but it can help them with the direction of testing.

Press for vitamin deficiency testing too (if they haven't done it already) as I've had B12 and D deficiencies in the past which have left me feeling completely drained and full of aches.

Hopefully the blood test picks something simple up

I don't think the possibility of developing cancer has ever occurred to me - not once, ever - until I just read Kwacky's last post.

I've been given some anti-inflammatory pills for the rib pain, just to see if it's an issue. I have to call if the pain doesn't go away or gets worse.

Blood samples taken. No news is good news so I only have to worry if they call me.

I asked for my flu jab while I was there.

oh and my blood pressure was slightly high at 144. The doctor recommended a blood pressure monitor so I can take a few readings over a week. I picked up a monitor when I got my prescriptions.

Good stuff. Did they take a 2nd reading at the end of the appointment or just the 1?

They took 3 back to back. It was falling each time and 144 was the average. That's why he told me to take readings at home, twice a day for a week.

Essentially the same reading then. My Wife has a BP of 170 at one point while pregnant, they were obviously very concerned.. 5 minutes later it was down to 130. a few minutes can make a huge difference

Naproxen?

Watch those. Dragged my mood down and made me feel weird when I took them.

I've just tried the BP monitor I bought. 124/70.

I did have a couple of cups of tea and a coffee this morning. I only drink water in the afternoons. That'll have an impact on the readings.

Naproxen is great before bed as it's a long lasting symptom manager but make sure you're eating regular as it gave my Brother-in-Law stomach ulcers when he didn't eat.
