Re: What are you doing today ??
Just been out removing the Kenwood touch screen head unit from the car and re-fitting the original, the sound quality is noticeably reduced, removed the dash cam too. A fascia to fit the Kenwood to the C1 is really cheap! it was about £100 for the civic, £35 for the C1 for a 'Connects2' one, used that brand before and it fitted perfectly.

Re: What are you doing today ??
My misses has the Peugeot 108 which is the same car as the C1. Superb little car. This is her second one. Not practical for long trips, due to space although we have used it for that reason before, but for darting around town is perfect. Saves a load of money, and it basically doesn't take any petrol.Stonesie wrote:Making a decision which I'm not sure if it's good or bad.
I put a deposit on a newer car, a Citroen C1 (Aygo in drag) 2013, 1.0 triple (sounds quite nice) FREE road tax, £57 a month less on finance then the current car and cheaper to insure too. It will also be cheaper to service and tyres are peanuts compared to the £100 a corner hoops for the civic...
But I will miss the practicality of the Honda, and the grunt of the 2.2 turbo diesel engine, the calculator says it will save me £1K a year +
If you feel like you will miss power and the ability to use the fast lane and the ability to fill the car up for weeks away then it's not the car for you. If you want it to save money and short every day trips it is perfect.

The main focus right now is to save money, 99% of my driving is solo and commuting and for the 1%, family outings and stuff I can hire something bigger like a pug 3008, I like the look of those.Rossgo wrote:

Then personally i would say it would be a good car for you. It literally takes little to no fuel, it's cheap to tax and cheap to insure.Stonesie wrote:The main focus right now is to save money, 99% of my driving is solo and commuting and for the 1%, family outings and stuff I can hire something bigger like a pug 3008, I like the look of those.Rossgo wrote:

Actually interesting fact - me and my misses went to the circus the other night. There were no car parking spaces anywhere. We had to look out on the road and we spotted one little space. Of I had brought my car (which is still small) we wouldn't of fitted in, but in hers we slotted in and walked to the circus. Things like that is great lol

Those C1, 107, Aygo cars are great but noisy on the motorway and crap in winds. Also, I believe the clutches are only rated to 30k miles but other than that it's very cheap (tyres, fuel, tax, repairs)

Makes sense to have a little commuter these days Stonesie
Not convinced on rating clutch life in mileage. Too many variables and depends on use and frequency

Having a bit of a chill out day today. Gone away camping with the family, the last couple of days have been a bit mad with setting up and going round the theme park at the camp site. Today we are going to brave the weather and go to the beach.

Making a lot of phone calls trying to sort things out lol, settlement figure for the Honda is still £3500 ish but it's worth £1900... Surrendering the car seems a good option

Fantastic family day today. Lazy morning followed by a 4 mile heritage coastal walk. Day on the beach with a lovely cornish cider and pastie lunch. Got back to the house for a dip in the hot tub and then been down the beach for a barbecue. Now up on the head land in a very posh picturesque hotel lowering the tone and drinking more Cornish cider.

Fantastic day in Paris. Been to Place de la Concorde, Louvre, Montparnasse and to see what is still standing of Notre Dame (which is more than I realised).
Paris has become one of my favourite places visited. Some stunning architecture and history.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Only worked half a shift today, bus broke down in the middle of nowhere and it took 4 hours for engineering to find me. Then they couldn't fix it so by the time I got back to depot I had 1 hour left, and a minimum 45 minute break before I could drive another bus so I was sent home...
The bus is booked for recovery tonight, the recovery driver is going to love those road's.

Had another x-ray. By my amateur knowledge the fusion looks pretty bloody good and solid bone is now clearly visible between the three vertebrae.
