What make are the new discs and pads ?D6Nutz wrote:Thread locked the new disc in and torqued everything back up again. If the weather is looking good then I'm going to take it into work to test them out and start bedding them in. Hoping to go to the gym after work as well which should give me a decent run.

I've been a bit naughty and kept the same pads (SBS Street), they are only a few hundred miles old so I should be able to get away with it. The discs are made by a company called blackshadow-uk, they are a company based in wales that manufacture discs to order. I had read a few good reviews about their service and quality so decided to take the plunge, that was also helped by the fact they are about a £100 cheaper than brembo who make the original discs.Blade wrote:What make are the new discs and pads ?D6Nutz wrote:Thread locked the new disc in and torqued everything back up again. Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Just about to order some bar end mirrors, on the rideout yesterday at speed they were moving a lot, a mixture of vibration and the wind so I thought I'd try the bar end mirrors, I've found a decent set on eBay for £26 to try before I spend £3k on the ones from Rizoma lol
I get knocked down but i get up again.

Sounds a good idea.
Other option is take them off and just look over your shoulder which won't be often the speed you ride nothing is coming at you from behind

Took the number plate and mirrors off , put the standard can on and gave it a little clean.

That's what I thought until I heard the siren.... They mistook concentrating on my riding as making a run for it and had the heliochopter on the way. Ah well, distant memories now. My cheque book has nearly recovered 10yrs later.Blade wrote:Sounds a good idea.

Rode it to work to try out the new brake discs. They seem good, there is no vibration until you get under 15mph then there is a very little vibration. I'm putting it down to using used pads and hoping that it settles down as things bed in.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Well the wife went out so I decided to bath the bike after yesterday's Wales trip, also took the leads of the battery and cut away some of the plastic so the leads fit more flush so happy with that now, also had a look at the mirrors and found that the bolts on the brackets were as loose as feck !!!
So tightened them all up and everything seems hunky dory, put it back to bed with the battery optimiser on.

gave it a quick wash before tomorrow. I wanted to bleed the brakes but it's not urgent and I've not had much time.

Not my bike and I didn't have my phone with me for a photo but parked up at the beach this afternoon was a stripped back KTM 690 Duke with full slicks and the number plate being a PVC sticker affixed to the underside of the tailpiece
Awesome piece of kit.
