Took the sx in for a service. Embarrassing mileage. I really do need to get out more.
I can't believe I had to put my textiles on. Wet and cold. The roads were horrible.

Had a little run out this afternoon, just a quick loop for a couple of hours..... busy out!! All the rain the past couple of days has pulled all the crap onto the road, and its like a little mound right in the centre of the road, on most of my fav B roads.... so its wasn't much fun to be honest.

Today I'm waiting for a break in the rain to give it a wash after a day out yesterday.
Yesterday I went up to Drumlanrig castle with Gaz and met Paul up in Carlisle... 451 miles in 1 day and no problems at all, the bike does drink more fuel on high speed cruising but we came home on motorways and they have the aerodynamics of a brick, so not unexpected. I was out for about 14 hours. 7am - 9pm.

Clatteringshaws
Drumlanrig
And the sign for one of our coffee stops made me chuckle
Great day out and the big GS handled the miles with no issues, only a slight numb bum after a 200 mile ride home with only 1, 5 min fuel stop

Fwiw Stonsie, I suspect that ^ would pretty much kill me off.*

765 went in the Triumph to get the forks replaced. (in short the paint was flaking off the lowers, they finally agreed to replace.
Took a 1200 Tiger out as a loaner. Rode it home, stuffed in the mancave. Its a decent enough bike, but did not really feel excited by it. Thumping engine, snatchy throttle in all gears, loose gear changing. Handled well enough though.
Took the XR for a quick spin to a cake stop.

Nothing today, I was going to wash it but it's been raining.
Yesterday, 233 miles.
Up to Leeds to meet friends, Skipton to meet some more, Devils Bridge (Kirkby Lonsdale) to meet more from Keswick and finally on to Blackpool to see the illuminations and a fireworks show.

Then home again, a closure on the M62 and the weather radar meant I took the northern route home (A59 to Skipton then down through Bradford) and enjoyed the extra light pods I fitted, they're set to come on only as high beams and are crazy bright.

My son had taken a car to go to boxing and my wife was stuck on the motorway, so I had to take the sx to my sports massage appointment.
Dry and still light on the way, pitch black, torrential rain and strong winds on the way home. I don't know how I used to do that all year round

Not my bike but saw a post on our community FB group looking for a mobile motorcycle mechanic. No helpful replies after a few days so I offered to help.
I messaged to offer some help if needed. Ended up being a chick who has separated from her hubby and discovered she prefers women

but also has a 6 yr old daughter with autism.
So today on a KTM 390 Adventure I did an oil and filter change, air filter change, replaced brake lever and re-straightened the foot brake lever, manufactured and fitted new fog light brackets, changed battery, cleaned and lubed chain and sorted tyre pressures. She took it for a whirl and after planning to sell it now is in two minds. I did a test ride as well, and it’s a cool little bike. I even tried to talk Jess into “getting a bike”
I was repaid with a few ciders and chatting to her and her partner about my experiences with my son’s ASD and divorce, finding some one new and life in general. They are both wild life rescue agents and were rehabilitating two possums and a Tawny Frog Mouth Owl with a missing eye.
Sometimes reaching out to help others ends up being so rewarding and I now have made new local friends and feel really happy to have helped someone out.

90 odd miles on the KTM today, the lanes are epic. It's pretty wet in places, but that only encourages jumps into the big puddles.
Got talked into going up one big hill, I'd heard them talking about it earlier in the ride. One of the riders much more experienced than me was going to skip it but changed his mind.. they said it would be easy.. rocky, rutty, with 2 foot steps is not what I'd call easy. Got up it's though without falling off too.
The most amazing bit was the guy leading is 90 this week...

Took the SX out. I popped in to DMC to look at the MVs. The brutale 800rr in red and black doesn't look that great online but the colours really stand out in the flesh.
KTM have a load of new models coming in next season, so if anyone is after a new one now is the time
They're also stocking the Chinese brand CFMoto. The quality looks really good. They're very well priced.
I also popped in to Sutton Honda to see my mate but he's on holiday

The 765 looks nice in silver and orange. I thought the new Daytona looked a bit plastic.

Couple of hours out after lunch on the Desert X.
Still way too many idiots driving their cars as if they are the only vehicle on the road.
Close to hibernation time for biking for me.
Did enjoy it when I eventually found some quieter roads though.

It was great fun, bloody hard work though. The TRF group doesn't do much less than a full day and 90 miles.

I'm thinking about putting some 50/50 tyres on the SMCR and doing some of the TET next year

I could be tempted.
Today the triumph went in for its MOT, so the weekend was the regulatory fitting of the legal number plate and dustbin.
It passed.
This weekend, removing the legal number plate and dustbin and fitting the proper numberplate and exhaust.

Met up with another rider from the TRF for a potter. Didn't bother recording the route, but it was about 50-60 miles. Mainly event free apart from the chalk section where the rear decided it wanted to try and say hello to the front. Very sideways, but somehow stayed on.
