.... And probably that much or more in reduced tyre life. But that's okay, because at least the tyres are that much more expensive.

Both EV and Hydrogen are required. Think of them as the new petrol vs diesel.
EV for cities and low emissions - Hydrogen for fast refuels and high load carrying capacities (think HGV, heavy plant and sales rep)
