Good to hear mate, I know they have to make coin, but sometimes their pestering costs them money. Times when I've had an experience like yourself, that makes me more willing to go back. When the opposite has happened, I've avoided them for future sales like the plague.Cav wrote:Sales people who don't push the hard sale.
We placed an order on some oak furniture last night. We were offered coffee through the 2 hours we were there and rearranged their showroom to match our living room; to the centimeter. An hour or more was taken to deliberate and during this time we were not pestered; it was bliss.
While placing the order there were no hard sales of added extras, we knew we wanted pads for under the feet of the chairs/tables and we knew we wanted a protection plan (because our home insurance doesn't cover it). There were extras he could have sold but didn't. We walked out feeling very happy with them...
...Knock on wood, I hope it all works out well

Re: What do you want to praise today?
The friendly 4x4 driver that pulled my van out of the semi-frozen snowdrift it sank into at 6:30am this morning, he turned up after I’d been digging for 20mins, but it took his tricked out Disco another 30 mins to eventually get me out. This top bloke wouldn’t take a penny for his trouble, just a spare pair of fur lined work gloves I had on board (he had no gloves and frozen hands!), I’d guess I’m not the only one with a debt to pay forward this evening?

Re: What do you want to praise today?
Community spirit.
My daughter has a school friend that lives a few doors down and her step mum is a JP. I was down there the other day getting documents verified for my income protection claim. I know them pretty well so when she asked why I was doing a claim, I was pretty open as to why.
Well today there was a knock on the door and there was Paul and Lea with a still oven warm zucchini bake. She told me to freeze it so when I get out of hospital I’d get a couple of easy meals out of it.
Really touching gesture and exactly why I love living up in this community.

If food is still warm it has to be eaten there and then. You know the rules.

Re: What do you want to praise today?
It was too early for dinner and they specifically said it was to make life easier when I’m back. Currently still reasonably capable, so I’d rather leave the easy meals till later.Kwacky wrote:If food is still warm it has to be eaten there and then. You know the rules.
But it was hard to leave it, smelled delicious

That kind of gesture is fairly infrequent but extremely gratifying when it happens. You've got some good neighbours right there

To be honest Cav, the community up the hill where I live is amazing. It is proper neighbourly. A good percentage of my street get together every Christmas for drinks and a BBQCav wrote:That kind of gesture is fairly infrequent but extremely gratifying when it happens.
