Re: Ducati 748 - Road to track/road
Decided on some Pirelli Rosso 3s as they are the latest tyre from the trio i was considering and Addisons has some in stock in my sizes.
Rumours are tyres will make a big jump up in price in the New year.

Metzeler have already hiked their prices up. I'm hoping they don't go up again.

Bike is back home.
The Rosso 3s were £248 fitted to loose wheels.

Is it good enough weather to go for a ride?

If i get the chance i will give it a ride up the road to fuel up. Can't do all this without seeing how it feels ASAP.
Still struggling with terminal manflu atm and don't finish work until tomorrow.

I think after the investment (both soul & substance) that Duke has made in this project, anyone else who rode her in advance of him would be guilty of something akin to adultery IMHO..?Kwacky wrote:if you need a test pilot.............
When you're feeling better, a pic of her all rubbered-up & ready to go in her home would be nice please Duke63.

In time gone by the lord of the manor was allowed to have first dibs on any bride.
I'm basically doing the same thing.

Re: Ducati 748 - Road to track/road
Holy f*ck! Feels like a racebike. Engine spins up sooo quickly with the lightweight internals. Roads are too greasy to properly cane it especially with the worn out tyres on but i cannot wait for better weather.
One issue i was told was to make sure that I use plenty of revs moving away from standstill as the lack of engine inertia makes it easy to stall...which i found out before i even got off the drive.
A few photos to follow.

It sounds light when you rev it, if that makes any sense? It does seem to spin up quickly.
She looks and sounds great.

Re: Ducati 748 - Road to track/road
They can stay for the road. I have some spare fairing sides for the track that are blank at the moment.C00kiemonster wrote:Thats really sweet....
What about the 748 on the fairing?
General consensus is to leave them as they are and let others find out it isn't a 748 on the track.
