I'm not sure that it's even necessary on this bike to be fair, all the bolts are stainless. It does seem to make the bike easier to clean but all the painted parts are also coated in Gtechniq C2, it's a silicone based long lasting coating like wax on steroids.
The ACF is very good at killing salt's corrosive properties so I put it on anyway, I have the cheapest spray gun I could find and a compressor so I put it on with that.

Checked them over, moved them around the garage, popped them both on an overnight charge.

Fixed the slug, made a new battery tray, fitted a new battery ,rewired part of the harness so its neater, re covered the seat, fitted new silencers, fired the old thing up, annoyed the neighbors

I accidentally sprayed my bike in fallout remover while decanting into a bottle. I then had to use the hosepipe inside my workshop to remove it.... doh!
The bike is now super shiny again but my workshop STANK for 2 days

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Took both bikes out! My 21 yr old nephew and I took the Thruxton and the Multi out to a pub for lunch via a great road that is one of my favourites in the area. Had some great weather as well.
Plan was for him to start if on the multi then ride the Thruxton back. But seems they don’t have many corners where he lives in the States and he said he’d rather stick to the multi since he was getting a feel for it. Apparently he started following my lines and said he feel way more confident with cornering now from a couple of hours out. Glad I could help him learn a bit considering he’s ripping about on a S1000RR back home
After the lunch headed up a mountain pass to a look out then back down and up our mountain road home and another quick cider at my local before heading home. Great day out in all and enjoyed giving the Thruxton a good thrash, though I was being very careful where and when and for how long I got exuberant as the licence is on thin ice for 3 yrs

Great pics.
V jealous. The weather isn’t good here at the moment, so the bikes stay in the garage

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I keep thinking 2 bikes for how much I ride is over the top, but then I go for a blast on the Thruxton and think “I can’t sell this bike!” It’s definitely my choice for any solo ride under 2-3 hours. Much past that and my body gets cranky, and as such the Multi is still needed for two up rides and longer stints in the saddle.
I could see me holding the Thruxton for a long time. The Multi may get a upgrade in a couple of years.

Not a bad place to park up that...
Definitely agree with kwacky, the thruxton is a good looking bike. The mutley isn't exactly shabby either.

That Thruxton is lovely. I had one as a courtesy bike a couple of years ago. Lovely thing to ride and it looks fantastic.

Sounds like an ideal situation to me.. fun solo bike and fun pillion bike. The only thing missing is a hooligan machinekiwikrasher wrote: ↑21 Dec 2022, 08:55 I keep thinking 2 bikes for how much I ride is over the top, but then I go for a blast on the Thruxton and think “I can’t sell this bike!” It’s definitely my choice for any solo ride under 2-3 hours. Fwiw I suspect (based on our familiarity with Kiwikrasher),,, that they can both fulfil that role when the mood takes him.?
