Metzeler M9RRs I had fitted earlier in the season are the most confidence inspiring road tyres I have ridden on. Fabulous in the bends.

Headed over to Crossgates and did the A483 run. The roads were almost empty.
Did the A4112 which I've not done for years. I think the last time I rode that was with Bratty.
Got the miles needed on the SX for its first service.

A nice big loop, up to Pool in Wharfdale to meet a couple of friends then sticking to mainly B roads down to Holmfirth to The Carding Shed for Coffee and Cake then a look at the collection of classic cars
Then off down to The Yondermann for dinner and back up to the A57 snake pass where I headed home, nearly 200 miles and my bike hates bumpy/tight/twisty B roads where my friends bikes were lapping it up (V-Strom 1000 and KTM Super Adventure S)
Currently browsing Tiger 1050 Sport's on fleabay
The Carding Shed have a good cake selection

Washed and polished the SX and gave it a once over to make sure there's nothing falling off or needs flagging at the service.

Took the SX in for the first service. No issues.
I had an old ER6 for the day. Same engine as the Versys but in a much smaller bike. Good fun. I do like those little engines.
I reckon there won't be many more days I can get away with wearing summer gloves.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
For the first time this break, managed to get out on the Thruxton. Jess had a day off so managed the homeschooling for me so I could get out. Beautiful day, blue skies and 24 C. Lockdown rules are allowed out for exercise within your Local Govt. Area. As I’m outside of metro Sydney, my LGA is quite large, including a major National Park. Motorcycling is included in exercise so I legally got out for a couple of hours. Struggled initially sticking to speed limits but kept reminding myself how lucky I was to have a licence. Settled in to a relaxed bimble and almost empty roads. Was nice just to be out.
First run in the new jacket and was really impressed with it.

First decent ride on it and it’s very evident I need to soften up the suspension, was really harsh over the bumps but still tracked well. On the smooth sections it was magic and those M7RR’s are fantastic.Perkles wrote:Yep bike looks mega ,nice photo

Took the MV out for an evening spin. Went over Driotwich way. Had a run in with a dick in a skoda who kept trying to block me on a country road as I was trying to over take him. Prick.

Cleaned it, a bit pointless, but at least I'll know it's clean under road filth.

Yesterday rode it best part of 200 miles to the office. Today, spent the morning slinging it round the peak district before meeting a load of slappers and headed to Yorkshire

We've been on some cracking roads today. The weather has been kind as well. Just a few showers, enough to make the SX get a bit squirrelly.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Took the gixxer round the block (about 40 miles round). I'm fookin knackered now. It's a lovely looking bike but it's getting way too uncomfortable
