It was an carbon airbox i bought, not the airtubes but it needs special clips to fit.

I was going to ask at JHP whenever we are allowed out again.

Cleaned the sticky residue off from the old wheel weights with Autoglym tar remover and gave the whole bike a wipe over with some G3 quick detailer.

Took the bike to work. Lovely ried in the cirumstances. Get home, turn the key and press the starter to put the bike away and nothing. No start and the dash went black. Tried a few times and nothing. Wheeled the bike back into the garage and it started fine though i now have a spanner showing on the dash and the fuel shows empty. There isn't much fuel in there but i don't recollect the fuel light coming on on the way home.

Check the battery terminals, it sounds like a loose connection should be top of the list.

Put the brake calipers back on tonight while I was tidying the workshop a bit more. That was all I did before my dinner was cooked.

No loose connections. But I did gave a small box of self tapping screws of various sizes in case of punctures that had opened and spread its contents inside the underseat space and around the battery. Might be one touched a connection somewhere.lucky one didn't end up in the tyre.

Reset the time and date and the spanner warning has gone. Fingers crossed it's fixed. Another half day out at work tomorrow so will give it a try.

My suspension adjustments made last weekend feel better.its a different bike to the harsh hard thing I bought

Today I confirmed that the panniers and top box fit on together with the SHAD rack, then went shopping for my parents, a decent sized shopping bag for life in each pannier with toilet rolls in the top box, with the beer (rock)

But it showed a problem, the exhaust was pointing directly at the plastic foot on the right pannier.

I know I could take the baffle out but it sounds stupid loud, I have set myself a longer can as a reward for paying off my credit card.

So I removed the link pipe and moved the can out so it now sits straight and doesn't overhang the swingarm, also now fires the exhaust gas down the channel in the heat shield (y)

The link pipe and can hanger where both on the inside of the mounts, now on the outside.

And a pic of the new indicators with the pannier, you can see where the oem indicators were rubbing.

Tomorrow my neighbour is wheeling his Z1000SX over the road for me to fit his heated grips.

This morning I fitted Phil's grips which came with Oxford branded superglue so I used a bit of that, also made my own adapter lead from the bullet connectors near the radiator to the Oxford connector, the bike has it's own fuse already installed.

Those connectors are everywhere, my Optimate charger uses one, when I was a kid I had a TYCO FastTrax and that used the same connector for it's battery pack, anyone else remember those :D

The man is a clean freak after my own heart, every panel I took off disappeared and was cleaned inside and out, I did offer to take the Right fairings off too so he could do a proper job on it but he declined.

A couple of pictures were taken.

The newer grips have arrows on them for orientation, not how mine are fitted but he's happy with them like that.

For payment he gave me a brand new Kawasaki sat-nav mount, I already have one from Kwacky but this one will get a phone case mounted to the top bit so I can easily switch between the 2, just need to find one that fit's my oddball Oneplus phone.

I've got one of these that I used on the KTM and now the push bike. Fits a OnePlus 6T perfectly.

Not sure if you could fettle one to suit?

Changed the battery and gave it a light wash, after reading the detailing thread, most of you guys would described my clean as a dust (lol) Lubed the chain and corrected tyre pressures.

Didn’t get a chance to go out on it today, but the kids are off to lunch with their mum for Mother’s Day tomorrow, and Jess and her kids are seeing her mum as well, so gives me a good window for a short blast

The Versys is booked in for an MOT at the end of the month. I know there's an extension but I thought I would do it now while it's quiet. Plus I suspect everyone will leave it to the last minute so there's going to be a rush later on in the year. That rush will be repeated each year. I know May is going to be quiet for MOT's in the following few years.
