Thanks for Jefit, Itchy... I've just downloaded it - I find it really annoying typing it out in my Memo.

I played a full 90 minutes in football yesterday, very sore today. It's made me realise that my cardio fitness is VERY good, I wasn't out of breath, my heart rate returned to rest (48bpm) after a few minutes of the game ending and I wasn't tired - what lets me down is my muscle endurance. I'm going to change how I train slightly now to remedy this.

Turning 40 is not great (blush)

Six years ago at age 38 I decided to run a marathon after zero cardiovascular training for 17 years so quite a challenge. From absolute base zero running fitness to a Marathon in 3HR 32min after only 6 months training I was happy with my hard work.

Six years later and age 44 and luckily the same weight I stupidly start the adventure again. After 2 months training I can only manage 10 minute mile pace for 3 mile (blush) so not going particularly great.

Anyone know any positives about getting old (facepalm)

I'll have a look at the JeFit app in the week. The reviews sound promising.

Insurance seems to be rock bottom when you get to around 28 from people I speak to.

I still don't find insurance particularly bad (I'm 22)... for instance. My Fiesta is £400, a Mercedes C350 AMG Sport quote was £720 - I paid £1000 TPFT at 19 for my ZX6R!

As for bikes, that doesn't seem to come down at all anymore which is strange. £300 for the ZX this year with 6 years NCB

Going out with a chick 12 yrs younger and it not being illegal ;)

And it's helping with my cardio (lol)

I'm 44 Blade, hadn't run for a few months, and did 3 mile (5 km) a couple of weeks back and was still doing just over 8 min miles.

Still got a bit of a cough but I'm going to go to the gym to see how I get on. My legs feel like matchsticks.

Bit of an easy week, only did the club run on weds. Might do the long run on Sunday if I get up in time. Proper training will resume next week.

Got 4 10k races booked in over the next few months, so looking to get my pace up a bit.

Made it to the gym. Gentle leg session but got calf cramp a couple of times. I can already feel my legs aching.

My girlfriend joined my gym this week, been nice to have a training partner again.

We trained shoulders and arms last night and I gave her a drop set with a superset dropset. Little bit of payback! ;)
