Just the wall and workshop has come to around £2k

I've done the electrics myself, the insulation and boarding was done while on my stag do. Finishing the inside in the next couple of weeks (I'm very excited for that to be finished)

Very impressive & inspiring thread this Cav, how you manage to cram so much in never ceases to amaze me.

+I love the overhung space to the right of the new workshop (next to your neighbour's fence). Just wide enough to park a wet bike under to dry, before moving it into the shed. Very smart move.!

Electrics FINISHED.

30A SWA Cable buried in the garden and feeding into a consumer unit in the workshop - all wired by moi.
Terrible over exposed photo to avoid the banding from the LED lights but it's to try and show the plugs on the walls and the corner which will have units and a workbench across the window

The first lot of garage floor paint didn't last (Macpherson if any of you are thinking of buying any) but it did a good job of suppressing all concrete dust in the meantime.

We've since purchased 2-part epoxy resin paint with anti-slip aggregate. It dries a lovely mid-grey and has a gritty/rubbery feel to it when dry.

I can move the bike back in after 3 days of drying. I'll then be taking delivery of the units and worktop.

That's a flipping ripoff that is. My shed at the last place was wired in by a mate who was a sparky. He asked if we wanted it cert'ed, I said no and left it. He said if you ask the house let me know and I'll get the cert sorted for you..

Well fast forward a couple of years and we sold it, and totally forgot about the cert for the circuit. The buyers paid for a full electrical survey, which to a sparky 8 hours and probably cost a grand or two. He commented on the consumer unit in the shed, but never checked the paperwork at all..

Thank you buddy! I'm chuffed to bits with the progress so far.

I took the masking tape off the floor earlier and it's lifted some of the paint up

Going to need to go over it with caulke and paint I think.





Also - kitchen units are being delivered this Friday so I will probably be fitting those over the weekend

I didn't manage to finish the kitchen units over the weekend as we did the soffits and downlights in prep for the cladding.

Had to buy a 68mm hole saw and arbor - 25 bleeding quid!!!

Anyway, soffits installed, downlights installed and Elsie photobombing the photo last night ( genuine photobomb and I didn't ask her to sit up and beg either )

Sunset and a time to reflect.. I'm incredibly grateful for the help I've received with getting as far as I have already and the end is in sight. I've gotten close to coming down with a cold more times than I can remember since starting this where I'm burning the candle too fast and on too many ends, I need an evening or two to recover and get back at it.

Off to IKEA this evening for a breakfast bar leg for workbench/worktop.. hoping to get the worktop done before the end of the weekend.

Time to relax and enjoy all of your hard work
