Would I be right to say, if a cable was broken or if I hadn't connected it up right to the coils the bike would splut and splurt!? Surely there would be an engine management light on as well? Wouldn't it be obvious to feel/ hear and see that something wasn't right?

Only if the coils were not connected to the bike correctly.

Wrong up Translogic about 20 mins ago and they seem to think i have a PUSH SHIFT ROD SENSOR. I've worked on the theory of a PULL SHIFT ROD SENSOR.
So i have loads of pics of the work but i took another look at the sensor wiring and low and behold I must have it wrong because the wire colours do not match (pic attached) he said i need to connect to to the PUSH - GREEN/ BLUE WIRE.
Anyway i shall try this tomorrow and he wants me to call him back to let him know !! I'm sure he gets this everyday.
PS great convo with Translogic, very helpful and he defo wants to know if it cures it!!

. Rang up my dad and he said i bet its just because i was concentrating so much that I overlooked a simple thing like connecting the correct colours together!
We shall see tomorrow!

So i have now switched the connection over to the PUSH wire! How I didn't movie it in the first place I dont know!
What a difference!
Light now flashes when the ignition is on to say its operational!
So i decided I would take her out on some local roads that I know well approx 15/ 20 miles in total. This included all speed limits and all types of roads, town, smooth, bumpy and long and fast!
So i read in the manual that the minimum threshold is 3000RPM and therefore there will be no QS before this. I didn't test this out don't fancy f'ing it up! But i did test it from around 3.5k RPM to see what it was like. It was buttery smooth and infact it happens so quick that I couldn't even tell if I had brought my foot up to use it!
Roads were greasy and it's quite blustery out there this morning so i didn't fancy taking any risks so took it easy. But doesn't mean i didn't try the QS out in the higher rev range! I managed to use it all the way up to 6th and saw a silly speed (on a private road of course) so decided I'd best roll off the throttle!
It's insanly quick, I'm used to clutchless upshifts but that doesn't cut it compared to the Translogic.
I have rung them back to let them know its all in working order and he was thrilled. He said thanks for the feedback as he was wondering!

I feel now though that the summer has now gone and also I need to save dosh up for wedding and also my IOM/ Scotland Trip and also my honeymoon so sadly trips out on the bike will be a lovely treat every so often but when I do I know this will just make my routes just that little bit more special!

I couldn't agree more. We had a meeting the other month about how bad news spreads quicker than good news. It's surprising how quickly stories get loose now with FB, Twitter etc. Defo happy with Translogic. Not saying any others aren't as good just my experience has been superb so defo worth giving them a shout out

On the way to the petrol station after the MOT my shift rod fell apart 
. Hand tightened it while at petrol station and then on way home it fell apart again so pulled up on the path and sorted it.
Got home got the tools out and tightened them all up! Fingers crossed now it's all good. I'll have to take it out for a ride at some point and check it properly

How does a 10 min 'test turn into a 25 mile 'blat?!!
Well I must of tightened it enough now as i pulled over a couple of times and checked it and seems OK now. Phew!
How did I live without it for so long! I'll be honest this QS is amazing at any rev even up to red line in treble figures!! Such a wonderful piece of kit so glad I saved for it
