Re: job interview
just had my job offer confirmed in writing so ive handed my notice in,my boss has gone apeshit and I mean properly mental at me
Said the new company is a load of shit and unprofessional ,he then offered me the earth
I couldnt get him to understand i just dont want to work here anymore no matter what pay rise i get or benefits. If I am honest I am shaking and quite upset, ive worked here nearly 20 years and ive just been ranted at like ive done something wrong
anyhow its done now

Sounds like you are better off out of there, Perkles. At least you have a new job to look forward too.

Re: job interview
I know you were apprehensive about handing in your notice, but it's done and you're moving on. You need to get out of that toxic environment.
Well done.

Definitely the right thing to do Perks.

Sounds like a knob. Everyone moves on from time to time. Especially after 20 years. A new job will inspire you again, not just about the money.
Non compete clauses are difficult to enforce I understand?

Re: job interview
Non compete clauses are generally very difficult to enforce.
Maybe he should have looked after his staff better whilst working for him.

Re: job interview
They are hard to enforce, but even so, he has been a bit of a donkey, banging on about how bad the other lot are etc... very unprofessional.
If he carries on in this fashion he might do you a favour if he is all humpy and let you go right away
