I told her she'd probably disturbed a burglar which gave her a little panic.
It is an odd thing to find on your doorstep.- StMarks

looks a bit like a roofing axe to me mate.
However, fwiw, I actually would report it to the police if it happened to us, just in case.

I think it's an electricians axe of some sort as it's stamped tested to 20,000 volts. I'll see if anyone calls round looking for an axe or I'll give 101 a little call tomorrow.

Re: What are you doing today ??
It looks like a Firemans axe tbh, they have to be insulated for chopping through a live wire in a house to kill the electrics.
The most probable reason it was wrapped up near a door/window was to break in - that way the villain can get away with Going Equipped and evades any possibility of Prior Intent, makes it look like a one-off opportunist crime when he "finds" the axe. Just my opinion.
I'd wait for him tonight and chop his f***ing hands off.

Keep a flask of hot tea by the bed tonight Andy.
That way if you hear anything suspicious you can make yourself a nice hot brew which may get accidentally spilt in the un invited visitors face if needs be

Re: What are you doing today ??
Well I made it through the night without getting stolen or murdered. Phoned non-emergency who were more or less uninterested. They kindly told me I could do a hour long round trip to drop the axe off at my not so local police station if I wanted. I've let a few neighbours know to keep an eye open.

I'll bet. We went to Pompeii last year - there is a exhibition in the side chambers of the amphitheatre all about the concert - really good.TonyB wrote:I was listening to/watching that lastnight.
