Having never ridden a bike with electronics, if they're anything like car electronics then most of the time it cuts in isn't necessary anyway.kiwikrasher wrote:I've had the traction control but in more times than I'm comfortable with on the Multi. A controlled slide on the track is a different ball game to getting the back slide on your when you're on the road.
The TC settings are adjustable so it's worth having a tweak to see what's best for you.

I prefer getting the back out on the road to on the track in all honesty.. It spins up easier and there's almost always a compression bump to grip up on again.

Gave the chain a thorough de-gunge and lubed with WD-40 chain wax. The SDOC white chain spray just isn't cutting it. I had orange speckles on the chain side plates and wasn't keen on that. Sorted now. It's slathered in wax. I'll wipe excess off tomorrow morning before college. The only pain with living the chain on this bike is that it's on the right hand side and to get decent access I had to take off the right hand silencer. First-world problems...

Took the wheels off the 748 to get new tyres fitted tomorrow.
Looks like that brakes could do with a clean up and might fit some new lines and bolts whilst i am at it.
Would you keep the brake pads with about 3 mm left on them?

You've spent a lot on her recently Duke, and 3mm on each pad leaves a fair bit of use IMHO.
Having said that, if you're going to give the calipers a through overhaul whilst the wheels are off, then it would seem entirely reasonable to put some nice Brembo SC's in there, and keep the old ones as spares to fall back on..

I would get through that 3mm of pad in less than a day at the track but on the road I'd probably get 1000 miles out of it.
Also, as good as Brembo SC pads are, they're bloody expensive. If it were me I'd be looking at the SBS RS for road and track

Used SBS RS and Brembo SC and have to say would go for the RS pads. Just as good for half the outlay.
A pad change is about 10 minutes so imo no need to be done for convenience whilst the wheel is out.. If the new pad thickness is 4.5mm and the wear limit is 1.5mm those pads at 3mm are half worn with loads of life in them.
Change them if you fancy a change or an upgrade but if your happy as is give them a rough up with emery paper and fit back in. You would then notice any braking improvements mod by mod. If you service the caliper, fit braided lines and pads all in one go how do you know which mod made the improvement.
