New Triumphs?
There's supposed to be an unveiling today of some new bikes.
If anyone spots something can they post it up? I'm in court until 5.

I like that!

That looks gorgeous....but surely that's not 'stock'....just a show bike (obviously!)
Looks more like the older Thruxton to me???

Re: New Triumphs?
Juding from the video this is a production bike available for sale.
It would be nice if Triumph did have a new bike that they waited for the UK bike show, seeing as the NEC is just down the road from where they're made.

Re: New Triumphs?
It took Triumph about 10 years to recover the development costs of the 675 Daytona. They sell in the low hundreds. It's not a market they want to compete in.

I believe the Daytona 675 is no longer soon
Is that Triumph out of sportsbikes for good ?

Re: New Triumphs?
Good bike. I still remember seeing the 675 at the NEC show and then getting a day long test ride on one. Crikey that was 10 years ago now and was a bloody good bike then and now.

Re: New Triumphs?
Yeah, I test rode one when they came out. I still had my Daytona 600 then. I wasn't massively impressed but that's probably because I had done a lot to the 600

Re: New Triumphs?
I had a 954 Blade and had ridden a service bike cbr600rr as well as the 675 all in the same week on local roads.
I was very impressed by the 675. Felt like a 250 chassis with similar grunt in 3rd and 4th gear to my 954 and blew the cbr6 into the back of beyond.
I've always fancied one but just never got round to it. Maybe it could be a good track bike for the future but I'm unsure of how robust they would be under hard track use.

Re: New Triumphs?
The older versions seem to last really well on track. I think the latter models were too heavily tuned so they can go ping.

Re: New Triumphs?
I asked a triumph representative about the new street triple. He denied it despite intensive grilling, but he did go bright redduke63 wrote:No new Street Triple announced yet. They might be saving it for the Italy show.

Re: New Triumphs?
Similar views to mine when I first rode one, I took it on a route where my T595 struggled and the 675 just laughed at me and said "is that all you've got?". Took me 5yrs to find the limits of that bike.Blade wrote:I was very impressed by the 675. Fwiw in my experience they hold up well under track use, unless that is, they're either over-revved or tuned beyond 130bhp, either of those will decrease reliability rapidly. Like most bikes the suspension needs a couple of quid spending on it for the track, but on a twisty track it's in it's element and rewards a good rider. (So I'm told)
