Strange ??
I got my 999 back from Louigi moto last night and while we were chatting the MOT question popped up as I was going to put it on a daytime MOT as I don't really use it much on the road. I cant remember when the MOT runs out or when it needs taxing again so I have just checked on the DVLA website, according to them its taxed till June next year and the same for the MOT, yet I didn't tax it and I haven't had an MOT done ??????????

Re: Strange ??
You can obtain a copy of the last MOT and see where the MOT was done.. if it's somewhere miles away, chances are it was either a genuine mistake (number plate) or a clone.
Tax is not so strange if you have a direct debit sorted

Re: Strange ??
I have just checked the MOT history, it looks like there is a duplicate bike out there as the reg no is a Ducati ST4S not my 999 !!!

Re: Strange ??
I guess you can go to your dealership, check the VIN and Engine numbers against the number plate and that will tell you if you have the legit number plate

He may well have bought the bike in good faith , its not hard to source the right paperwork to make it look legit , I can't imagine he'd take it to get an mot if he knew it was dodgy .

Re: Strange ??
Sounds like you have all the right paperwork and your bike is the legit one.
It does sound like the ST4 is a clone of your details.
When I owned my zx6r I got parking tickets through from Liverpool council saying I had parked my Vauxhall Astra illegally. I explined the REG they were pursing was for a zx6r and not a Astra. Some thick scouser had cloned an Astra with a bike plate. Fortunately it was easy to get sorted.

Afik they are not allowed internet access whilst in custody.?Kwacky wrote:Any update?
I'm pretty sure that, using the right barrister, Kingfixer should be able to disprove the fraud charges. Or at least argue that there was no intent on his part (as his bogus V5 looked legit) & the crown would find it difficult to prove otherwise.?
However all those speeding tickets that the poor ST4 owner has been getting could have accumulated to an excess of points.

Re: Strange ??
Well rather embarrassingly this is all my own fault, when I bought the bike about 2 years ago..ish, it had a standard plate on so I ordered a 7x5 plate with carbon lettering, I only ordered it with the last digit wrong so I have been riding around with the wrong reg number I obviously didn't even notice when I swapped the plates over !! For some reason I had it in my head that the last letter was a D not a W after posting last week I found my V5 document and noticed , luckily the bike is still taxed but the MOT had run out so had that done on Friday and she passed though only on a daylight MOT as I hardly use it on the roads really.
Still can't believe I made such an obvious error , what a numpty !!!!
