Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
It's really not unexpected. Poor thing has been in various state of repair for 5 yrs. it's been run once a year in that time when I throw it together for Pinkslip and rego to avoid it expiring and having to get a full engineers report. Bikes don't like sitting around like that. I'll tickle it up over the next few months and iron out the remaining kinks. It's only going to be a town hack/short ride bike as I plan to get a tourer in September. Short list is Multistrada and Sprint. It's going to come down to heart or wallet. I'll ride them back to back and see if I think the Multi is worth the extra value.Rossgo wrote:Sounds like your Daytona and you are going through the wars mate haha!! It does look very nice

Yes the track is great but found it tricky and messed up my lines quite a bit took me a while to get most right some are still meh. The bike performed awesome but i do think I'm going to sell it and try something else no other reason than comfort which sounds daft but i feel cramped on it.
"80mph" sorry officer I possibly could not have done that I'm no Valentino Rossi.

Did you not put your name on the board and get out with Jake and Neil ? Great track though
Did not collect my bike from its service seems there was an issue with the forks, warranty job now, but parts in Germany, not going to see my bike for a bit

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Yep, seems that while trying to service the forks, the bottom bolt just spun, looks like it was over tightened on production, Causing them issues today. So new parts ordered from Germany and will be replaced and fitted under warranty. It's the first time the forks have been touched since its birth, this service calls for new fork oil and servicing. Funny that as I have just stripped out the forks legs on the gixer to get them done.
Not something you would normal need to replace hence the lack of parts in the uk. Just as well I removed the belly pan, as I had some ideas on doing something to it, so I have been working on that today.

I too have had a heavy day of bike maintenance...
I stuck one of those little round reflectors on my number plate.

And they are off (off the bike at least)kiwikrasher wrote:Oh absolutely, the whole thing needs some love. There's dust all over the rims and frame/engine etc from a life in the garage. There's enough to keep me busy on it for many more months. Still need to change out the forks when Monty sends me his. My LH compression screw is seized and nothing I can do has moved it and now the screw is rooted.Kwacky wrote:At the very least polish the pegs, they look weathered in that photo.
They will be winging themselves off to you ASAP along with a set of black powder coated pillion pegs FOC. What were the other bits you needed apart from the brake light switch?

Just some fairing bolts Monty. The bigger ones especially (Centre of lower panels and in the front guard) but a few of the standard size as soared would be handy! I'll PM you a different address, I'll be out at work in a week so won't be here to collect it.

Is it running ok, Andy? I know you were a bit concerned about it.
