Re: Lorenzo and Ducati
I totally agree Darren but at the end of the day Yamaha are in motogp to win titles not fill circuits with fans or shift merchandise and there best chance of that is with Lorenzo not RossI.
It's a bonus to have a popular rider not a reason to have a rider and tbh I don't think Honda or Ducati would have Rossi back so from a manufacturers point of view popularity is not that important as far as I can make out.
Don't get me wrong I'm not slagging Rossi off, I just don't think from a Team Managers point of view Rossi has the same appeal as he does to his millions of fans.

Re: Lorenzo and Ducati
You know what.....that's a really good point and TBH I've never given much thought to the manager/rider aspect and how that may or may not affect things....who works for who at that point?? Off the track there's got to be some level of working empathy between the pair, but once out on the track that's got to disappear to a certain extent surely?? I know if it were me I'd be "Feck that guy, I pay his wages...I'll do what I want!!" ....and I think they frequently do that, just getting caught up in the moment??
On the plus side, at least they don't have the comms systems that car racing does....didn't they try those for a while??

Apparently confirmed by Lin Jarvis today that Lorenzo will be joining Ducati next season.

Re: Lorenzo and Ducati
I think Lorenzo just wants to see if he can do what Rossi was unable to do...make the Ducati work.
TBH, this is prolly a good time for him to do sommit like this.

Re: Lorenzo and Ducati
I think it's a very different bike to what Hayden and Rossi were riding,I'm sure jlo will win on it.
I would be surprised if Ducati let iannonie go though,be interesting to see who gets the other Yamaha seat
