Re: New helmet time
I went with the Nolan. I was tempted by the Shark but once I found out that the visors and pinlocks from my current helmet fit the newer Nolan, the costs meant it was a no brainer.
Thanks for everyones help and input, it's appreciated.

Re: New helmet time
Very nice, suits you, does it have a down sun visor inside? would be interested to know how quiet it is.

Re: New helmet time
How you finding the HJC Kwacky ?
Rode in mine yesterday for the first time and for 200 dabs I ve got to say I'm impressed. Comfy, light, well ventilated with good vision. My only niggle would be the quality isn't Arai or Shoei levels but then again neither is the price and it's far from bad.
Time will tell I guess but first impressions are very good imo.

Re: New helmet time
I've only used the HJC once. It's got a slightly narrower field of vision than the Nolan, which is to be expected. It's slightly louder as well. But it's very comfortable, good venting and very light. I'm hoping to use it at Donny.

Re: New helmet time
Pretty much how I found it tbh. I guess the increased noise is a by product of the better venting and race helmets have never seen quietness as a priority regardless of manufacturer tbh.
Let me know how you find it at Donny, but please stop short of impact testing it

Re: New helmet time
Here you go, side by side photos. You can see that the Nolan is much wider which allows them to get more padding in. There's very little between them in weight though.

Re: New helmet time
Nice.....nothing stands out like a plain white lid......or a gold & blue one if you live here, but that's another story entirely...

Re: New helmet time
Lid seems nice and quiet. Not as quiet as the outgoing Nolan I've got. It's a different noise.
What I have noticed is how stable it is, especially when you get a move on. The shape of the shell is almost teardrop so I guess it's something to do with that.
The drop down sun visor isn't very dark though.

Re: New helmet time
Found that with the Shark too Kwacky, but it still beats buggering around with extra visors imo

Re: New helmet time
I don't think that's possible
The one on the left is my new HJC. The one on the right is the new Nolan.

Re: New helmet time
I'm shocked about the size as well in all honesty. Like the look of your new Nolan Kwacky like that the white is broken up a bit and not just full on white

Re: New helmet time
Some manufacturers have upto 4 different shell sizes for the same helmet dependent on head size / fitment. Perhaps HJC and Nolan differ at what size they go up a shell size if that makes sense. It is a noticeable difference though.
