Some interesting stuff in here as the intake side has been developed to allow them to use it in Motogp as its not a hydraulic or electric system.

I've seen that system before or something extremely close to it, it was back in the early 80's on a Caterpillar V8 diesel and was used not to advance valve timing, but to advance the fuel pump timing for higher power and less 'knock' at low engine speed. Fwiw it struck me as an elegant fix to a problem when I had to pull it apart. Well done Suzuki!
